Blockheads 3 - Week 38

This week's block is courtesy of Stacy Iest Hsu and you can find the directions HERE.   This sweet little block gives a lot of bang for your buck. It's easy-peasy and is quite lovely.

What else has been going on here besides Moda Blockheads and evening hand quilting?  Kits, lots of kits.  Some I have been just ordering fabric, some I've been planning and some I've been fabric cutting.

There are still some openings of these PRE-ORDERS.......

McSherry - you can find them HERE.

A Is For Apple are HERE

Red and Green quilt kit has been so popular that I've had to re-order fabric several times and there are still some available HERE

Hawthorne was sold out, but I found some more yardage and there are 3 kits left HERE

And finally - there is no more yardage to order for any more of Victorious, but there are 3 of these left and you can find them HERE.

Blockheads 2 - Week 37

This week's block is brought to us by Vanessa Goertzen. You can find the directions HERE.

I'm going to start thinking of how I'm going to set all these blocks this week. Once I get my design wall cleared of a current project - this is next on my list.

Evenings here are getting darker earlier and the weather is crisp at night. Lots of quilts are back on the bed and I refer to this time of year as "good sleeping weather".  Other evening activities are tea drinking and hand quilting the A Is For Apple quilt. I am enjoying both.

Blockheads 3 - Week 36

What do you know? It's my turn again. It's seems like it was just a while ago when it was last my turn, but time is relative isn't it? All our perspectives on time will be changed after this year.  Anyway - here is my block.

 Here are the directions......

Fall is starting here in Michigan and my evenings are now spent comfortably with a quilt on my lap as I hand quilt it.  A Is For Apple is moving along at a gentle pace.

Blockheads 3 - Week 35

This week's block is courtesy of Lissa Alexander and you can find the directions HERE.  It's a nifty little block that works up quite fast.

We are getting seasonal weather here. Quilts (plural) are back on the beds and I'm wearing socks today. It's very September here. Cassie thinks I have plenty of books to cozy up with this fall.

Harbor Springs has landed everywhere and I have some of it on sale in the Etsy shop.

There are 4 kits of Victorious still in stock........

This is the 2nd quilt kit from Roselyn fabric (that ships in February 2021).  I am taking pre-orders on it HERE.

Blockheads3 - Week 34

This week's block is courtesy of Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings - you can find the directions HERE.

Lisa's block calls for a pieced star in the center. Since my block is 6" - I just kind of fussy cut a star for my center.

I finished one of the quilt tops with the new/pending fabric collection - Roselyn.

This is A Is For Apple....

The center blocks are appliqued and the border is strip pieced.  I will be hand quilting this as soon as I get it back from being basted. Expect to see lots of pics of the hand quilting in the next few weeks.

This A Is For Apple quilt will be a MODA KIT!!!  That's right, one of those nifty kits in those nifty Moda boxes!  You will be able to purchase these kits from MANY quilt shops - some of them are even taking pre-orders on these kits. The MODA KITS will have LASER CUT ADHESIVE motifs for speedy applique.

I will be also offering kits too - in those same nifty Moda boxes - but my kits will have yardage for the motifs so you will be able to cut your own for hand applique.  I'm very excited about this - you can have the kit either way you want it.  Most people will prefer the laser cut kit.  That's great - and it will be available in many shops.  Some of us will want to make this with hand applique and I'll offer the kit that way. Win/Win for any applique technique you want to do.  A Is For Apple measures 68" x 80".  I am taking PRE-ORDERS on the hand applique kit and you can reserve a kit HERE.
