My friend Annette asked me to join her One Block Challenge and I'm delighted to!
You might have seen the previous One Block Challenges here on her blog.....
Betsy Chutchian did the T block recently and I have chosen School Girls Puzzle.
I have made the above quilt using our new fabric group - Portsmouth. Portsmouth will be shipped to shops later this summer. The background is the black cross weave from Moda Fabrics.
I have made another quilt using this block before. It takes on a whole other look when several fabrics are used instead of just 2.
I think it looks both very, very old - and contemporary at the same time.
Basically....
Your quilt can be any size, large or small.
Your quilt will look it better if it is quilted and bound, but it is not required to enter the challenge.
Use any setting for your blocks. Alternate blocks, sashing, no sashing, etc. You get to choose but you will need to use Minick and Simpson fabrics or Bella Solids (or the Moda Cross Weaves)
You have 3 months to complete the quilt. It must be finished and posted to Instagram by July 31st. You will need to have an instagram account and you will post your finished quilt with the #laurieobc
I will search that hashtag and be able to see all the quilts taking part in the challenge.
Let's not forget prizes from Moda Fabrics!!!
How fun is that!
Laters,
Laurie
