Work In Progress Wednesday

Because our fabric collections came out in a slightly altered schedule this year, I have had some time to work on a personal quilt.  I'm still waiting on a couple quilts to come back from Kari that I will bind for Quilt Market, but this is what I have been spending the last few evenings on…..

I congratulate myself that I'm almost done with the 5th border, but then I quickly realize that there are 10 more borders and they get exponentially larger.  Mrs. Billings Coverlet is being quilted in a traditional manner with small stitches using a size 12 quilting needle.  She is much too prim and proper for big stitch quilting.  I am really enjoying the process.

What else??…. I really hesitate to say this, but some people have asked me to.  There will be a garage sale here at Casa Simpson Friday and Saturday 9am to 3pm

Will there be new fabric and patterns and such? No.  This is everything that has been stored in the basement.  There is lots of stuff. Mostly stuff from furnishing our booths at International Quilt Market.  There are some props, and lots of Moda yardage in the form of curtain panels.  Lots of those (which are great for the backs of quilts).  Some quilt books that have been culled from the shelves here (too many books, not enough shelves).  You know how it goes.  Everything comes with a fine coating of authentic Ann Arbor dust.  You're welcome!

Oh, what a gorgeous quilt. And your hand quilting is beautiful. Sorry I don't live in your area for the garage sale, but hope things go well.

That quilt has become even more amazing with your hand quilting. Thanks for showing the details of the quilting. It gives me some ideas for a project that I want to hand quilt.

Your quilt is looking wonderful, and the addition of hand quilting makes it even more special! I would be at your garage sale in heart beat if it was only possible! Any chance you will be having another one the 2nd week of November, as l will be in the vicinity then?? LOL

I checked on Google Maps to see how long it would take me to drive to your garage sale - only 8 hours and 4 minutes. Wish it wasn't so far - sounds like the garage sale of my dreams!

Your Mrs. Billings quilt is so gorgeous! You're really flying - it'll be finished in no time! Thank you for sharing your progress photos - hope to see more :) Best wishes for your big garage sale - If I lived nearby, your garage would be empty and so would my wallet-Lol.

LOVE Mrs. Billings. So, let's see how I can get from SoCal to MI for your garage sale ... umm....

I'd love to buy curtains that can be used for backs ... any (slim) chance on those getting posted here?

Never hurts to ask ...
