Love your story about Lissa. It's nice to see someone give recognition to those who really make a difference in our lives. Love your fabrics, I have a passion for these colors. I see a quilt created and given to an elderly person, to remind them they are loved and to keep them warm. I believe in passing it on.
We believe in passing it on too…
Email us here, Debbie and it will go right out to you.

Our Brilliant Star
Today is our turn on the 2014 Designer Mystery Blog Hop hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop. We designed one of the stars for this dreamy quilt all done with the Snowbird collection by Laundry Basket for Moda Fabrics. Aren't they lovely?
Ours is in there somewhere……. We named it Brilliant Lissa.
Ok, here's where it gets tricky…... How do we portray our admiration for someone who does so many, many things for the quilting community and NOT sound like we are sucking up to the boss? And how do we do it without coming off as a smarmy toad? (I know it's too late for the toad thing). Oh the heck with it - here is our brilliant star……..

Moda Lissa's Blog |
Everyone on the Moda team is exceptional. We get asked about that and we say it over and over - but it's really true. From the owner Mr. Dunn on down. They do everything possible to champion us, but Lissa takes it to another level. What do we need to make and design our quilts using Moda fabric? - Lissa will make it available to us. Need a mannequin in your booth for Quilt Market? She's on it. Need a favor? Done.
And you all know about how we all put up a united effort for Moda Fabrics at Quilt Market and blog hops? She is the brainiac behind it all. Pre-cuts? She made them happen for Moda and now pre-cuts are a phenomenon all their own.
And what does she do in her spare time (after taking care of her family) - she makes quilts. Lots of them. Really nice ones too.
Thanks Lissa - for all you do.
Whew, ok that's done. (sorry Lissa. The cat is out of the bag. Now everyone knows about you)
Make sure to stop over at Kate Spain's and V & Co's blogs for their stars.

It's Melting!
After a wonderful weekend in Texas I'm back home in Michigan. There was family, Moda, and the Dallas Quilt Show. It was grand and a good time was had by all.
The sun is shining all over the Polar Vortex ravaged midwest. The dozen snowstorms we had are starting to melt. I would try to describe the state of our backyard, but some of you may be eating. All I will say is this: A dozen snowstorms, most of the winter was below zero, everything froze solid, and a healthy dog.
Enough of that. I'm frantically back at work making quilts with our Lexington fabric.

Lexington
Lexington is here for us to play with and make some quilts. The hardworking Moda salesmen (and women) will be taking these out in a few weeks to show the shop owners. You are getting a sneak peak here. Lexington is a group of saturated denim blues, cream shirtings, and gold accents. We love it.
Here is some of my strip piecing …...
These are all the Fat Quarters spread out on my cutting table, waiting to be chosen for my next quilt.
Well, it's back to work……
