We're pretty happy with them and we hope you like them.  You can order them HERE if you like.  The patterns are available now, and Midwinter Reds should be up on the Moda website next week as a "Future Group."  Midwinter Reds fabric will ship in the fall of 2013.

We also would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.  I'll end this with this picture that has been getting a lot of play the past 2 days - I love this picture.  Happy Easter indeed.

Pour L'amour du Fil

Pour L'amour du Fil

That translates to "For the love of the thread".  That is the textile show in Nantes next month sponsored by Quiltmania.

If you happen to be in the neighborhood - please stop by.  Polly and I will be there as well as some famous people:  Kaffe Fassett for one, Di Ford and Brenda Papadakis for others.  That is just some of the folks.

We can hardly wait.  There will be a great show of course, vending (who can forget the vending!!!!) and classes and workshops.

Polly will teach rug hooking and have lots of small kits to sell.

I will teach hand piecing and needle turn appliqué and have some kits to sell too.  These are my 2 workshops....
Star Table Runner

Zinnia Pillow

Here are a couple of samples of what Polly will have.

Salt Box

Hearts

House Sampler

These are just some of the kits that Polly will have for purchase in Nantes.  We hope to see a lot of you there.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Just an added note..... we have added some finished quilts on out Etsy site - help us reduce our inventory :)

Happy Worldwide Quilting Day!

Our wish for you is that you are able to take a stitch in a quilt sometime today...... Right now I'm doing lots of appliqué and I miss having a quilt in a hoop.

This is a quilt I hand quilted last summer.  It will be in our new book published next month by Quiltmania - Quilts and Rugs by Polly Minick and Laurie Simpson.  That's a nice, easy title isn't it?

We'll have more on this soon.  Remember, there is always time to take a stitch.

Oh, and how does an Irish Lass celebrate St. Patrick's Day??  This, of course.....

au revoir

Oh, and how about a little give-away??  Make a comment on what you are working on right now and you could win a Honeycomb of Midwinter Reds!  Cut-off for commenting will be midnight Tuesday, March 19th.

A Portrait Of The Artist

Just thought we'd show you this gem.  Polly received this from a hooking friend this week.  It's her portrait hooked in wool.  An incredible likeness, no?  Uh, people - this amazing portrait is a "pin" to wear and measures 2" x 3".

Tish Murphy is the talented artist who did this.  Brava, Tish!

Tish worked from a photo to create this.  Polly and I find this hard to believe since we are on record saying there are no decent photos of us in existence.  It kind of makes this all the more incredible.

We hope Spring is springing wherever you are (or falling - for those of you Down Under) - Later.....

Red Letter Friday

What is special about today.  Nothing, really.  Just TGIF people!  Assuming that Friday is different than the rest of the days of the week for you.  It's not here.  Days here are all the same.  Chores, Gibby, and quilting all day, everyday.

What really is going on is that I noticed it's been awhile since I've blogged and as I looked around from my computer chair I wondered what I would take a picture of and what I would blog about.

RED

This is my antique red wagon (not visible under all the clutter) topped with my latest WIP.  These are applique blocks for a new quilt that will be unveiled shortly.  As you can see, Gibby is impatient with me.  It's way past time for his morning walk.  He does have a way of getting his point across.

I do see light at the end of the tunnel.  I might get these blocks finished this weekend and then it's on to the last quilt for the Midwinter Reds collection.

It's actually getting to the point where we can stop focusing on these quilts and look toward next month when Polly and I will be in France.  It's doesn't even seem quite real yet.  The lists are being made and items are being crossed off.  Itineraries are starting to fall into place.  I have procured a packable raincoat (one that folds up into a pouch the size of a sandwich) and walking shoes for Paris.  YOU know what I'm talking about.  Something very comfortable, supportive, and maybe just a teensy bit stylish.  These are arriving today.....

Liberty of London Lace-up

If I'm going to be running around Paris in sneakers - then it will be these sneakers.

I got them here in the US on sale a couple days ago and they are sold out :(  But I did find them online at a UK shop.  Good luck.

Happy Friday.
