This quilt is constructed in rows. Our block is a house block. We LOVE houses. Polly is actually kind of famous because of her house (and her previous homes). It has been photographed many times for magazines. Remember theses pictures?
So, when the Fat Quarter shop asked us to post a picture of our favorite house - I said I would choose Polly's house. My house? //wipes tears from eyes because laughing so hard// First of all I would have to clean my house. That's a story for another day.
When I do lectures and trunk shows, the most frequently asked question is "Does Polly's house really look like that?". Yes it does. Everyday. Polly used to be a magazine stylist in her previous life and her home reflects that.
So imagine all of Polly's lovely interiors and furnishings transported to this beauty. This is the house Polly and I chose for our dream house. Just think of the stair climbing exercise you would get as you take your daily walk on the beach! There just has to be a white sandy beach at the bottom of those stairs.
Make sure to stop at these other blogs today. They will tell you about their favorite houses too.
This is what is occupying my house at the moment. Lots and lots of things made out of red and white fabric. It seems, it isn't enough that I have yards of fabric to create and play with - I am now making my own fabric with all the teeny, tiny scraps.
These lovelies will soon be turned into something else entirely. We'll be showing more of this in the upcoming weeks - This new collection is called Midwinter Reds.

I love those reds and whites! Gorgeous house pick, too. :)
I love your dream house and your new collection of REDS!
My two favorite color combinations are blue and white and red and white - you can imagine how much I love your two latest collections! And now you've given me a new dream house to add to my list!
Thanks for all that and for the opportunity!
So sad that Polly has, that clean home sickness. At least you were either spared or cured so that you have more time to dig into those lovely red fabrics. It looks like fun! :-> Toni Anne
So warm and inviting! These colors are my daughters "love"...would make her something special!
Jayne
Love your dream house! Maybe you could have a quilting retreat there?? I also love Polly's house, wish mine could look like that.
A fabulous dream house!! but imagine carrying all your shopping up those steps!
Oh - now that house is a dream. I can imagine having my coffee outside and looking out over the water. What a feast for the eyes.
I have made many red and white quilts but just seeing these have made have heart beat a little faster. I must start planning another red quilt while I wait for Midwinter Reds to be released. PattiO
couldn't imagine what you could come up with after all those incredible indigos, but you and Polly have done it again with the red and whites. Can't wait to see what you'll do with them!!!
I would love to move right in! Can't wait to see what you do with those red strings....
I'm also one of the "laughing so hard at the thought of anyone coming into my house 'cause it isn't clean" gals! But it's like that 'cause I'd rather quilt than clean!! Love the reds!
Connie
Red has been my lifetime favorite color, and those fabrics are awesome. I'm anxious to see what you are making out of them.
The mystery quilt sounds like a lot of fun.

Shawn
You have good taste in houses! I think I was born to live in that one myself.
Oh....RED!!!! My favorite - these look so yummy!
I never used to use reds in my projects. Now, every thing I make has some red somewhere and I can't imagine a project with out red!. I love the reds you've chosen.(annie5152@comcast.net)
Would love to win the Midwinter Reds. They are lovely. I think adding a little bit of red to any quilt just gives it a pop. And about the house, we can always DREAM!
reds are my favorite! Whenever I see a new red I have to pick up at least a fat quarter of it.
Love your fabric lines. I'm excited about Midwinter Reds. Classic.
I love your reds. I need a bolt of each one..
suebennett1975@gmail.com
Wouldn't it be fun to work on your fabulous red fabric in that awesome beach house?
I'm in love! Can't wait for this collection to become available. Reds are my favorites.
Midwinter reds - how perfect and they look perfect with the tans and whites. Anxious to see what magic you work. pwiggs@embarqmail.com
Ooh, that red and white collection looks just yummy.
I can't wait to get my quilting hands on some Midwinter Reds!! I love 2 color quilts right now and have some of the Indigo Crossing fabric too. And this house? It gives dream BIG a whole new meaning!
Midwinter Reds- what a fantastic name! I'm a complete lover of reds! Thanks for the chance to sew with some of your yummy fabrics!
That house is beautiful. I would not like all those stairs though. The red fabrics are lovely.

Those reds look fantastic. And that house is fantastic, too.
Love the red & white, can wait to see your string project!
I agree, Polly's home is gorgeous. A lovely variety in Midwinter reds and I cannot wait to see the new collection in person.
OMG, I thought that it couldn't get any better than your blues but I am seriously LOVING your reds. Just plain georgouse !!!!
LOL, you'd have your daily exercise in ALREADY just doing the stairs down to the beach. Then you could plop down in a lawn chair and enjoy the beauty.
It's really pretty (at least what I can see of it). I still haven't got all the Indigo Crossing I ordered. Now more to yearn for. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win a layer cake.
Mary
Thank you for sharing a bit about your new project. I love red, too. Looking forward to the BOM from Fat Quarter Shop!
Your fabrics are the BEST and a MUST HAVE in any quilter's stash!! I recently saw a black/tan/cream quilt done in your Independence Trail line and it was spectacular. Two color quilts are so eye grabbing-- am collecting Indigo Crossing now and can not wait for your reds to hit us!!
Karen
Love those reds. Red is quickly becoming my new favorite color.
Look at those stairs! I would trip and fall for sure! Those reds are so pretty!
Your dream house is pretty, but too many steps! LOL!

I'm loving your dream beach house! Someday it'd be so fun to own a waterfront property!
I have barely had time to think of ideas for Indigo Crossing and here you come with Midwinter Reds! I have been wanting to make a red and white quilt and the reds in this line look great! I'm looking forward to it!
I LOVE that beach house ... what I wouldn't give for one like that. And of course it's got a white, sandy beach at the bottom of those stairs! ha!
I've done blue and white quilts, but never red and white. I need to ... but first I have to make another blue and white - SPINNING STARS!!! ;-)
Midwinter Reds is going to be amazing!
Can't wait for Midwinter Reds to hit the quilt stores!!
I painted that many stairs once. It took me a month and was miserable.

Red! I love red! And red would look great in my (not dreamhouse) living room!
I can just see that house on the Lake Michigan coast near Traverse City. Wow, that would be sooooooo cool to own. And, I love those red fabrics you are making. Looks like a wonderful quilt coming on. Thanks for sharing.

What a great collection! It's a must-have.
Love the house! So Grand!!
I love a two color quilt! It would be awesome if you did a virtual tour of your home for us to see every room. I love your style.
What a beautiful house, but those steps...oh my!
Just love Polly's house as I'm a big 'blue' fan also. I especially remember her photo showing all of her blue spongeware in a cupboard, which I also have a collection. Guess my favorite is Polly's house.
It's a good thing there are "rest stops" on that stairs to the house! I love the reds too!
Oh yay,I'm not alone in sewing all the little bits together lately! But I sure wouldn't,t mind adding bits of Red to the mix:-) Thanks for the chance!
I love your "house". My mountain cabin has almost as many stairs. Thanks for playing along.
I love to look at pictures of Polly's house as much as you do! (And would have to clean my house before any photographers could enter...) But I'm sure a Layer Cake of reds would catch their eye so they wouldn't notice the dust bunnies!
I love red and white and that is very ironic because I used to hate red. Now I love the cherry look from a perfect red fabric Thank you for the contest.
I can't wait to see this new red and white fabric line! (well, I guess I have to, don't I?) I'm liking your "made fabric" --- and, yes, I could easily live in that beach house!
Can't wait for the Tigers!
lol! I think I'd have to have one of those electronic stair chairs installed if I lived in that house! lol! But, it is very pretty! :-) Love all those reds! Please enter my name for a chance to win some Midwinter Reds! Lord knows a "calorie free layer cake" would be ever so lovingly appreciated and enjoyed (after a winter of comfort food and butter cookies)! ;-)
Love the sneak peek of your new fabric line! I'm predicting a new red and white quilt in my future once that hits the shelves. Wonderful dream house! Good thing there is a landing half-way on those stairs.
I love your reds.. So pretty!
Oooh. Those reds just drew me in. Thanks for the chance to win a layer cake.
Love the red fabrics! Thanks for the giveaway chance.
You had me at RED! Love the house but like others, those stairs look pretty daunting. Stairs are what keeps me from committing to a house for sale I found near a beach here in Canada. Thanks for the chance to win.
Wow! what a house! lovin' those reds.
I am a huge red fan, but also a fan of Minnick and Simpson lines. I also drool at each photo of Polly's house - take me there, it's so peaceful. Can't wait to see your house block.
WOW! What a house! I might be tempted to put in one of those electric stair climbers to tackle those stairs each day. One would sure be in shape after walking up those! Can't wait to see what you make with those pretty red fabrics! :)
HOW DO YOU KEEP GETTING EACH NEW FABRIC COLLECTION BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS COLLECTION? Your midwinter reds line is just fantastic and I can't wait to see what pattern you design with it!!! Janet Kay
I love those red fabrics! Your dream house is gorgeous too. I can't wait to see what you are making with those scraps.

Those red fabrics are scrumptious!
Can't wait to see what you turn them into. Thanks for the chance.

My dream house would have tons of natural light. My current house is old and cool with huge overhangs at the eaves. Bad light!
Yummy new reds. Your designs make me smile!
Every room requires red!! Fun fabric designs!
Red is awesome all the time, not just in mid-winter!! As for that dream house...maybe there is a nice driveway out back?!
Wow, I thought the blues in Indigo Crossing were beautiful but those reds are just something else. I can see more red quilts in my future.
Reds oh my that is my favorite color next to blue!!! It can't get any better than that. I have lots of red in my house, but I also live in a red house.
I love red. Can't wait for it! Hope I win and thanks for the giveaway.
My very first quilt was made with Flag Day Farms -- it is still my favorite -- 14 quilts later. Thanks for the giveaway -- hope i'M A LUCKY ONE.

LOVE all those reds!! Can't wait to see what you are creating with them!!
We used to climb a staircase like that to get to the beach at Laguna. A time or two I had to piggy back to get to the top at the end of the day. :)
Gorgeous! I love those reds!
I must agree what a great shade of red. Thanks for the opportunity to win the layer cake. You ladies are amazing.
Can't decide which I like better, the red fabrics or the beach house!! Both are so lovely. Kim

I love your reds, and your blues, and well, nearly all your fabrics and collections. The dream house looks ... dreamy!
Am still not over how great you current collection is & there is a new one on the way?! Yessss!
red and white are my favourites, but I also love the beige and blue collection you recently released. All these beautiful fabrics make me nervous, because I want to have them all and I know that's impossible.
thank you for letting me participate.
martina
I like way you think! I'm always trying to use up my scraps. Love the reds too!
Red, white and blue is my favorite color combination, so I have pictures of ALL of Polly's houses in my "dream house" file (and one of her rugs, made by me, hanging on the wall). EVERY room in my house has RED in it!
It's such a happy color! :)
The reds are sooo pretty!

thanks for sharing Laurie. I laughed with you. I am in the process of hiring a housekeeper but can't start the interviews until the house is cleaned. Now don't y'all just think that is just so sad? Or maybe pitiful? LOL with Laurie. I love reds and had just asked myself the other day, is there any possibility that someone could own too many different shades of red or patterns or reds period. Of course my answer to myself was 'no'. thanks of ra chance to add to my reds!!
I am like everyone else, I love the red collection and will be looking forward to it being in the quilt stores. Thanks Judy
I need those red and whites to go with all the Indigo Crossing I purchased. Love those reds!!!
Your Midwinter Reds look lovely...we folks in the north need a little brightness, right? What's great is those reds will go with so many of your other lines as well...which we all have and want more of!
Love your creams and reds with the white - you go girl!
Love the midwinter reds!!! love that house too, but not all those stairs! ha
I'm loving the reds! They will go perfect with the blues and creams you did! Yikes need to start saving now :)
One of my favorite things to do is piece, the littler, the better, without rhyme or reason, just to see what turns out. Love your reds, I made a starburst quilt with dark blues, medium blues and light blues scraps. The sewing the scraps together was the most fun. Thanks.
I'm thinkong of a rocky road to kansas quilt top by piecing small narrow bits - wouldn't that be fun?
I'd love to win!!
BTW - need a translation of atelier blanc nord ouest's comments - just ask!
Janet in Nova Scotia

I could be very happy in your dream home. Thanks for the giveaway. I love the combination of red and tan.
I've just received some charm packs and mini charm packs of your Indigo Crossing fabric - this fabric would look so pretty with that! I'm also making a quilt that requires about 8 yards of red fabric...this would be a good start! Thanks for the opportunity to see these beautiful fabrics.
I was totally drawn in to Indigo Crossing and I am way more of a red girl, so I can't wait to see more of this line and what you make from it!!
Love your Midwinter Reds. My living room is red & white with some blue. Have used your Prairie Pailsey 2 & and Independence Trail, so am looking forward to your new Midwinter Reds.
