2013 Designer Mystery Blog Hop

Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for asking us to participate in your Designer Mystery quilt!  As you all know, if you have been paying any attention at all, this is a great  Designer BOM being offered.  The quilt this year features Avalon fabric collection by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics.

This quilt is constructed in rows.  Our block is a house block.  We LOVE houses.  Polly is actually kind of famous because of her house (and her previous homes).  It has been photographed many times for magazines.  Remember theses pictures?

So, when the Fat Quarter shop asked us to post a picture of our favorite house - I said I would  choose Polly's house.  My house?  //wipes tears from eyes because laughing so hard//  First of all I would have to clean my house.  That's a story for another day.

When I do lectures and trunk shows, the most frequently asked question is "Does Polly's house really look like that?".  Yes it does.  Everyday.  Polly used to be a magazine stylist in her previous life and her home reflects that.

So imagine all of Polly's lovely interiors and furnishings transported to this beauty.  This is the house Polly and I chose for our dream house.  Just think of the stair climbing exercise you would get as you take your daily walk on the beach!  There just has to be a white sandy beach at the bottom of those stairs.

Make sure to stop at these other blogs today.  They will tell you about their favorite houses too.

This is what is occupying my house at the moment.  Lots and lots of things made out of red and white fabric.  It seems, it isn't enough that I have yards of fabric to create and play with - I am now making my own fabric with all the teeny, tiny scraps.

These lovelies will soon be turned into something else entirely.  We'll be showing more of this in the upcoming weeks - This new collection is called Midwinter Reds.
