Need a Travel Project?

Do you have trips and vacations planned for the next couple of months?  Boy, do we.  It's always nice to have a small project to work on in either the car, airport, or hotel room.  How about a hexagon bag!  This bag is featured in the current American Patchwork & Quilting magazine - the August 2012 issue.  And when you are done - it's a great travel bag to carry all your hexagons and English paper piecing work.  Ironic, isn't it?

Have a great weekend you guys.  Make sure to see the quilt made by our friend Glenn in the same issue - he used Prairie Paisley II fabric.  Thanks Glenn.

What a great bag!! I remember when you showed us all your little red hexagons - I had NO IDEA you would make a bag out of them. The PP2 looks wonderful in Glenn's quilt. It's a great issue.

Thanks for making a useful pattern. Now I can use up all those tiny scraps I've been saving.
Glenn's quilt also caught my eye as I was reading the new issue on this rainy day.

I just got my magazine in the mail today - and fell in love with your pattern!

I saw this when my magazine came in this month! I LOVE it! I am making it and I have some AUNT GRACE TRAVELS with the British soldiers on it , which I'll use for the lining. I can see this purse in all sorts of fabrics! However, with the Jubilee, I thought it would be an appropriate and fun liner. I have a little big of the BIG BEN fabric from that collection also. Perhaps a coin purse or interior pocket or something. I'm so excited to make this!

LOL, my subscription mag hadn't arrived when i saw you post, so i ran right out and snagged up a copy. good thing i did, because i'v been tearing out the pattern pages of several projects (including the purse!)
i remember back when you posted the jar of red hexies. it's so nice to see them again and to see the project as well.

thanks for a great pattern! I forgot about this post and ended up getting the mag and discovered this pattern in it! I plan on making this with FQs and a metal handle with the 2 little ball closures so I can switch out purse when the mooooood strikes! (mauh)Liz
