This is our next fabric collection that will ship this summer. It's called Independence Trail.
But first..... a little about my day. I was so amped at the prospect of digging through these boxes and cutting into fabric that I became a little scatterbrained. You might have done the same thing at one time or another. I forgot to empty my pants pockets before they went through the wash. It wasn't a pocket full of change. Thankfully, it wasn't my iPhone. When Bill went down to the basement this afternoon to empty the dryer he found the carnage. He wasn't happy with me. It seems I left one of these in my pocket.

Besides some kitchen and bathroom towels, one of his shirts is ruined. Again, it could have been worse. It could have been a Cadbury Caramel Egg.
So now, on to the PREVIEW!
This is Independence Trail.....

Independence Trail is our usual Red, White, and Blue - but with some added Taupe! I think it's the perfect neutral. We hope you like it as much as we do. What else?? It has what might be our favorite polka-dot. We love polka-dots and try to use them and variations of them as much as we can. This is a polka-dot on top of polka-dots!

If you comment on this blog post before midnight Tuesday, March 13th you could get a box of freshly cut scraps of Independence Trail. I've cut out one quilt and am starting to cut out the 2nd. You can mention anything at all - or you can tell us what the stupidest thing you ever ran through the washing machine.
To answer a few questions about MLB At Bat 2012..... the one I bought has all the radio stations. ALL. You can listen to any major league game - anywhere. It also has a computer generated view of the pitch by pitch (much like a video game). They post videos after the game and lots of other stuff. You can get the t.v. coverage of every game too - but it costs more - and since it's my 2" iPhone screen, I just got the audio.
Now, back to work.

Oh wow!!!!! The new line is beautiful!!! Can't wait:)
http://www.loganmakesamess.com/
Stupid washing machine incident - Somehow a red ink cartridge for a pen "jumped" in a white load. My dad and brother got PINK underwear. The shade was lovely, quite beautiful. The men were not impressed! Go figure.
Your new fabric line is wonderful! Happy quilting.
Beautiful fabrics again! I'm wanting to make a Farmer's Wife quilt out of patriotic colors and I bet this would make a beautiful one.
My husband is always leaving kleenex in his pockets, along with screws and nuts and bolts. The tissue may make a mess, but at least it doesn't ruin anything!
Independence Trail is gorgeous! I love the new taupe color and the polka dots. The worst thing I ever washed and dried was gum--what a mess!!!
Oh, I love the fabric line! Just gorgeous! I'm not holding my breath about winning (never have) but wanted to say oh ah oh about the fabric. Good job.
Remember green stamps? You might not be that old. But somehow some stray green stamps got put through the wash. I had a doctor's appointment and wore a pair of jeans from that load. I had to have a pelvic exam and when the doctor sat down to take a look, he held up a green stamp and said, "when did you start giving these away"? Sigh...I've never been one of the cool kids...
Again, great job on the fabrics!

Oh, boy! Looks yummy - those taupes really look interesting! I guess the worst thing I ever washed (and dried) were the worms that my daughter had stashed in her pants pockets. Washed and tried worms have an interesting look and texture... ;o)
Oh they look scrumptious!! I'd love to win! I will tell you that I seem to have managed to get some chocolate on my linen (I cross stitch) -- not in the laundry, but still. Not a good thing. I'm hoping the layout of my piece will work out so I can avoid the stain. Thanks for the giveaway!
I washed a fairly new ipod that belonged to my son, you know he should check his pockets to, if you believe it or not after about 2 weeks it started working again, as for those scraps I would faint if I won.
What a great color scheme. I love the taupe with the RWB. I am also a fan of the MLB app on my iPhone. Thanks for the chance to win some yummy scraps.
I'm amazed the Cadbury egg lasted long enough to make it into the wash. Love the new fabrics!
Independence Trail is gorgeous! Love the addition of Taupe! My son picks up rocks constantly so there is usually at least one rock per load of laundry at our house :)
Your new fabric line looks wonderful!! I love the taupes, the polka dots and the toile look fabrics.
I recently washed a tube of lip balm - greasy spots all over everything.
I had to gasp at the thought of the egg through the washer... It didn't make it into the washer but my granddaughter found a robin egg and put it in her pocket... I found it broken of course when I went to check the pocket.. she loved the color of what she thought was a rock!! icky mess...
I haven't washed anything truly awful, but I wash and dry my share of kleenex in the pockets. They make a pretty big mess.
Love your new fabrics!
Love your new fabric line. I just picked up some prairie paisley yesterday to make a pillowcase. Hmmm, I have found that gel pens seem to wash ok, but they don't do well in the dryer. And then there is that mess to clean off the dryer drum. Not fun.
Sue
Those are so beautiful! Well besides the usual candy, pencils, school notes from the kids I actually did wash my phone in the washing machine. The kicker was we were leaving for Florida first thing in the a.m. so I had to depend on my husband's phone. Thanks for chance!
I can remember that my mother didn't check my brother's pockets and melted crayons left their mark on my slips. Love, love the new fabric line!!
Great colors - taupe is a perfect addition! The question is what have I NOT put throught the washing machine... money - yes, knifes - yes, chewing gum, chocolate, ink pens...
Love the new fabric line, would make a lovely hand applique quilt with vintage baskets and a few summer designs throughout. My son used to love to stuff his pockets with gravel from our drive way, several times it found its way into the washer.
Wendy
The worst thing I washed was my husbands cell phone. He wasn't very happy!
If my hubby hadn't called me, I would have washed my cell phone this week. Luckily I was close enough to the hamper to hear it ringing (frog croaking actually). I usually wash a lot of tissues that shred up in the dryer and stick to everything.
I love the dots--I'm going to BOLO that fabric for sure!
Karen in Breezy Point
Ohmygosh! Polka dots on top of polka dots! Lovely, and very sweet with the taupe addition too.
I think I did an eyeshadow compact in the wash once, and the worst was when it made it to the dryer...!
I love everything you guys come out with.
Another GREAT line! Guess the worst thing I have washed is Hershey kisses.
Bravo!! So excited to get this one! LOVE the mix of taupes in there and polka dots....'nuff said. :o)
Love those taupes, they sit beautifully with the red and blue. I just hate it when a tissue (kleenex) is left in a pocket, it covers everything in the washing machine, although the dryer does a good job of picking it up.
Love the taupe in this range red white and blue are a favourite in my sewing room so will be adding this range to my wish list thanks Helen in Australia
those fabrics look yummy - as usual :) thanks for a chance to win. I'm trying to remember the stupidist thing that has gone through my dryer, with 3 kids there has been a multitude of non-clothing items! I think it's a tie for the messiest - crayons or chapstick. laurie

Oh such beautiful fabrics! I love the dark blue with the light blue flowers. I was into money laundering for a while, but learned my lesson quickly. It just doesn't pay! In fact, it COSTS money! Ugh! Now all my bills go into my wallet, never in my pocket!
Sad news about the Cadbury egg. A true waste of good chocolate!

Tissues are my problem in the wash....
Oh I love your new fabrics and it would be great to win your scraps as it would be wonderful to make a class sample ( I don't have a shop just teach) using them before they get in to the shops ( it does take a little longer here in Australia) so I could be a step ahead, people love to be able to buy the fabric in sample
Thank you for the chance, greetings from down under

I love Independence Trail! I'm also a fan of MLB.Com.. just a different favorite team. This does not make a mess in the washer, but it's funny everytime I find one... a hairnet! My husband has to wear one (and he doesn't have much hair) when he does inspections and he leaves them in his pocket.
What a sad ending for the Cadbury, but like you said, at least it wasn't a caramel one!
Just yesterday, I got caught by my husband trying to clean all the snippets of tissue out of the washing machine. And he asked if he left one in a pocket again (he is usually the culprit). But NO, this time it was me. What a mess, but only temporary.
Oh goodness, I sense a depletion of funds when this fabric is available--as well as an increase in stash size. I love it! The worst thing I've put in the laundry is a tube of carmex. Did you know it is essentially grease? Now I buy my carmex in the little jars. Crayons are horrible, too. (Daughter's fault, though)
This new line is fabulous. I am going to start an americana quilt during spring break and these fabrics will be lovely in it.
Your fabric is always so lovely!! The added taupe is perfect. Thank you for the giveaway.
Mary
Love the fabrics!! I have sent chap stick and permanent marker thru washer and dryer.. Bad news!!
Wow, that is some amazingly beautiful fabric!!! Thanks for the opportunity. Let's see, I honestly can't think of a number ONE...so I will tell you some of the things I remember...Chapstick, lip gloss, athletic tape, gum, crayons, hard candies with soft centers. It seems every time I get comfortable with not being vigilant about checking pockets someone forgets something. The worst ongoing thing is the little black pebbly stuff from the AstroTurf on the football field. Not sticky, just everywhere, all of the time.
First off, a caramel cadbury egg would NEVER had made it into my pocket or the wash because I would have eaten right off the bat. The worst thing that ever went into my wash was a whole pack of blue bubble gum..washer AND dryer. I had to sit with lestoil and scrub each piece of clothing AND scrub out the dryer and then re-wash it ALL. This was thanks to one of my kids.
The new line looks great. Last year I took sheets off the bed. Took them out of the washer and something fell to the floor. O, it
was the back of the tv remote. The rest of the remote fell out, too. I tried to let it dry out and put new batteries in it for a few days, but it never worked again. I check twice now........
Wow, what a fabulous collection. Love the mix of taupes with your regular red, white and blue. Sometimes a kleenex or two goes through the wash, and a bit of change that my husband forgets to take out of his jeans pockets.
Love the new line! I am from Independence Township, MI originally, so the name is great! I am also a big baseball fan. Kirk Gibson's mother Barb is one of my good friends.
Just love this fabric with the taupe !
Gorgeous fabrics! The worst thing I ever washed was color crayons. And I couldn't even blame the kids because I knew I had them in my pocket from picking up before vacuuming. WD-40 removed it from the dryer with a lot of scrubbing. The entire load of clothes was ruined, though.
Lovely new collection! About 2 weeks ago my DH left a fish oil capsule in his pocket, which was washed. My best sweatshirt still smells of fish!
I was born in Independence, Missouri (origin of the SanteFe, California and Oregon Trails). How much of your new fabric do you think I will buy? Seriously. I would love to win a start on my collection. Karmen
Love the colors and the taupe is great with the other colors.
I washed a pair of my DD's jeans with lipstick in the pocket. That stuff jut doesn't come off.
I agree, taupe blends in beautifully. Ans polka dots-what's not to love? My sweetie washed his first 2 cell phones in his jeans wash...now, we do not buy him a phone without purchasing insurance for it, too ~
:-}pokey
Love it, love it, love it already. My favorite colors of red and blue and with taupe will be outstanding.
The polka dots are delightful! I love the new fabric line!
The dumbest thing I've washed in the washing machine was a big old honkin' nail that had been in my husband's pocket. It worked itself underneath the agitator and was discovered by the washing machine repairman. Ergh!! The bright side is that it did no damage to the machine and everything worked fine once it was removed.
Love the new fabric!
I love the addition of taupe with the red, white and blue! Stupidest thing I've ever run thru the washer -(and dryer!)? That would have to be my "good" watch that I left in a pocket. The band ended up in many pieces, but the watch itself never stopped working.
Wow wow WOW! It looks awesome! Love the dots on dots. And the eggs, yucko. Lipstick however is much worse. Just saying.
Let me think --- what baseball team will you be following?! I actually listened to part of their spring training game today. ...and I washed a worm that one of my sons left in his jeans pocket --- after that, I very carefully checked (and not by sticking my hands in the pocket!)quiltschon@att.net
Besides washing my phone twice I washed some batting once that was apparently not supposed to be washed. What a mess! The new fabric line looks luscious...scraps of any sized would be great to play with.
Taupe and blue are my current faves. I am really really loving your polka dot on polka dot. Hopefully, I will get some scraps.
I have never, ever run anything bad through the washer. My mother put the fear of God in me, and I check all pockets before they go in, every time. What? That's totally not OCD!
I've got people here who leave money in their pockets all the time. Fortunately, it is washable and makes a good tip for the laundress!
The stupidest thing I ever ran through the wash was a hot pink and yellow tie dyed top with my white sheets! This was back in the 60s when tie dying tshirts was so popular and I didn't know enough about fully rinsing newly dyed clothes. My sheets ended up a very pretty mottled pink shade in various spots, but hey, it was the 60s after all.......!
Love the new line of fabric. I belong to a group that makes quilts for wounded soldiers. the next quilts will be going directly to Afghanistan to keep the soldiers warm with a quilter's hug.
I L.O.V.E. the new fabric line, especially the polka dot! I am a huge polka dot lover too.
By the way, I have also washed a Cadbury egg. Try using some fels naptha laundry bar soap and oxy clean. That did the trick for me to get the stains out.
Love all those new fabrics and they would just go perfect in with all my other fabrics! Can't wait to get some! Thanks for a chance to win some!Sheri Forrester
oh that is a beautiful line!! but then again I usually love all your lines!!
Congrats on your new fabric line! It is just adorable, I also love polka dots.
Always love your lines!!! thanks for the chance to win some of it!! I would say that I have been most recently washing my 4 leaf clovers that I have been finding... Some are staying in tact... So, does this mean my luck is better for washing it OR worse because of washing it??
The funniest thing I remember going through our washing machine was put there by our son's friend Greg, who was spending a week with us. He tossed all his things into one load, one of which was a red t-shirt. Well, he had the most beautiful pink jockey briefs you've ever seen! He was really surprised! And since he was a really good kid and a good sport, he laughed about it too.
I especially love the reds in your new collection, and the taupes are a great idea. They do make the prefect neutral.
OM Goodness! Poor you and poor Cadbury egg! What a sight that must have been!
Love the new fabrics! Thanks for the sneak peek. Can't wait to see your quilts!
Sandy A
Wow! Just LOVE your new fabric line!! Taupe really makes it "sing"! I'd love to win your scraps...pick me, please!!
What a beautiful range of fabrics. The most stupid laundry accident I had was not checking the pockets of my daughters white shorts - a brown load of washing later I was kicking myself - the pockets were ful of little dirt balls. Just lovely.
julielou41@gmail.com
Lovely, lovely fabric! I love the Taupe alongside the reds and blues. I have only had washing mishaps that were easy to remedy,, the occasional tissue in a pocket.. I would love to win some of your wonderful fabrics!
Wow. Gorgeous new fabrics, I love the dotty polka dots. The stupidest thing I ever ran through the washing machine was my television remote control...yes, I did. Yes, it still worked afterward!
LOVE the fabric! I would LOVE to win also!
Crayons in the washing machine. NOt good! Gum, also not good. Kleenex, is a mess too. I have washed all of these.
send me some polkadots please! delightful! thank you Janita
my husband used to do a lot of roofing and one day i pulled the clean jeans etc. out of the washer along with a hook blade.:( so glad i didn't cut myself or ruin anything. love your new fabric!!
Beautiful fabrics, love the addition of the taupe.
I have had tissue, nuts, bolts and ink pens, luckily the ink pen was with my sons work jeans so it did not hurt them, but cleaning the dryer was something else.
I have washed many unfortunate items, but my husband most remembers when he left an id card in his shirt pocket and the card and the shirt pocket were ruined. An entire brand new pack of gum was the other memorable one.
You all knocked another one out of the park with this line! It is fabulous! I love the dots on dots!
Hi Laurie,
Love, love, love the new collection!
Funniest thing I've ever sent through the wash? i can't think of anything though my husband and son (who do the laundry) get very annoyed when a tissue in my pants pocket goes through the wash.
Oh! Several months ago, our son sent his phone through the wash. We weren't too concerned as it was a cheap flip phone that he had for over 3 years. Was due to be replaced for quite a while but he didn't want to replace it. He was so annoyed with himself, he went phone less for about 3 months. Which I thought was rather amazing for a High School senior.
Yes, the guys do the wash. They both enjoy doing laundry. It's a chore that I also enjoy but I gladly let them do the laundry. LOL!
Cynthia
Can you believe I left a quilt shop gift certificate from my sis in my jacket pocket!? Went through the wash and came out of the dryer in bits...Fortunately, the quilt shop owner kept a record of the gift certificates so I didn't lose out on my gift! I always look through pockets these days! Love your new line of fabric!!!
~Joyce in MI
What a sad demise for that Cadbury egg--disappearing slowly, agitation by agitation, in a washing machine.
Lovely new line of fabric. I like the addition of the taupe, but I'm partial to any and all neutrals right now, as I'm making an all-neutral quilt.
Thanks for the giveaway.
You're so funny - Save the Caramel!!! LOVE the taupe and the new line - beautiful as always!
I absolutely looove the new line of fabric! Can't wait to get my hands on some, especially the dots on dots...who knew. Oh, and love the caramel eggs, they would never last to stay in my pocket. I usually end up finding my husbands fishing hooks or receipts he forgot to empty out of his pockets, after he "checked" them :)
That taupe would work perfectly in my bedroom!!! Did you know that you can wash Nintendo DS games and they still work?
I once washed my husband's ipod.. funnily enough I had patted down the pockets, but because it was so thin and light I missed it. He was VERY unhappy with me. It does still work, but not quite as well as it used to, so it sits in a drawer, unused. He bought a new ipod.
Meanwhile, Independence Trail looks just as lovely as your other lines, and I'd be delighted to win some scraps to mix in with my American Banner Rose and my Prairie Paisley II.
Congrats on your new fabric line! Great color combination and they would just go perfect in with all my other fabrics! Thanks for a chance to win some!
i think a few scraps would mend my saddened heart over missing ww11 memorabilia :) kidding gorgeous new line as always!
My first reaction on reading your story was "oh no, what a waste of a Creme Egg!" says it all really. I think the worst I've washed is tissues in the pockets - so far.
Gorgeous fabrics, and I love the taupe.
Wow I am loving this new line!
Oh I can't wait for this range to come out !
I have just ordered PP2 and I made a quilt out of PP...
Just love your fabrics.
I washed my mobile phone, I had no one to blame but myself,oh and hair pins they make the washing machine take a trip to the repairman.Lol.
well so far the worst has been a red shirt with the white laundry...my husbands socks, underwear etc ALL PINK...I am loving the new fabric line btw. Hope you will be at quilt market in KC.
Lovely fabric! love the taupes and the dot on dot :) A sharpie black marker in the wash and the cap comes off does not wash well with dress shirts! Thanks and congrats on the new line of fabric.
I just love your fabrics and would love to get your scraps. I have washed mints. Paula
I love every line you have produced, and this one is a winner as well.
Oh...these fabrics look so yummy! Can't wait to play with them!
Go Tigers! We should have another exciting year.
Yummy fabric!
Laurie -- just love the fabric line ! Those colors and prints are stunning --- thank you, thank you!!
Karen
I just love your fabric combo, that taupe is just perfect and the dots, I will be crossing my fingers for some scraps.
As for washing I work with paper and have the rubber fingers in my pockets when I leave from work, sometimes I forget and throw the pants in the wash only to have a ball of rubber stuck in my pockets from drying...
If I had a cadbury it would not have had a moment in my pocket, no worries it would have been melted in my tummy.
Your fabric line is incrediable (sp) I can't wait for this line wow taupes. How long do we have to wait? Lets see I have run pockets of screws, carpenter pencil, lighter (for burning leaves etc) change this you need to hear in the washer sound like it going to exploaded plus the sounds of 3 little dogs sending up the alarm (barking), paper lists and I'm sure their is something I forgot. Oh, years ago a crib pad that the plastic must have been fatiqued and melted in the dryer!!!! Debbie
I forgot I found $60.00 in my husband pants!! But I had to tell him and he told me to keep it you know where I spent that! Debbie
omg this has to be the best yet with the large prints and the taupe polka-dots.
WOW! You hit a home run with this line! Love it, but then I always love all of your fabric lines!
Raising 3 kids & sometimes rushing to get the laundry done has led to MANY laundry mishaps! I think gum is the worst, though since you not only have to try to scrape it off the clothing, but sometimes it takes awhile to get it off the inside of the dryer, too!
can't wait to see the fabric in the quilt shops!
Debbie :)
Independence Trail is beautiful - the taupe is a great addition.
My worst washing machine incident would have been washing a rubber backed bathmat - the rubber backing disintegrated on the rest of the bath towels that I was washing - and let me tell you that the pieces of rubber were tiny!
Thanks for the opportunity to win some beautiful scraps.
Very pretty fabric. Love the colors and the taupe. Pens are probably the worst thing I've had in the washing machine. Big mess!
Mary
A wonderful fabric line. The worst thing that has gone in the dryer is a crayon. Not too much damage. Glad our son is older now.
The taupe is a perfect addition to your usual color palette. Love it!
Each one of your fabrics get better than the line before! I've just had the usual items left in pockets for the washing machine but I had one item ruin my dryer. When our daughter was young, my dryer malfunctioned and melted her nightie which melted all over the entire load of clothes!
Janet Kay
How do you do it? Another delicious fabric line!
More of a "mental" mess when I washed my husband's paycheck. Oh, the hoops we had to jump through to have a new one issued....
Your scraps would have a forever home with all of their M&S cousins at my house! The funniest thing I ever had happen was somehow one of those little tune-playing discs that come in greeting cards got in my dryer. I still don't know how. But one whole day, every time I'd shut the dryer door it would start playing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." It would stop when I'd open the door. Man, I thought I was losing my mind! I guess it finally died ... but it was so funny!
I love all your fabric! Until now Wiscasset has been my favorite. This is gorgeous!!! Can't wait to get my hands on it :) So PLEASE pick me!!!!! As for the wash...I guess tissue is the worst thing, thankfully!
Another GREAT fabric line from TWO GREAT GALS!!!! LOVE the fabric!!!!
LOVE Polly & Laurie...an inspiration to ALL!!!!
L.O.V.E.! the taupe! I am usually the one checking the pockets before doing the laundry. I like to count the "find$"!
I absolutely love the dots! Beautiful fabric line.
I remember when my children were young that my greatest fear was drying a crayon. It happened more than once and I can't believe how many items of clothing were ruined. I swear those crayons would sneak in after I put the clothes in the dryer. Ugh.
One of the funniest thing that happened is when the kids asked their Dad if they could have any of the money found in machine. Thinking it was only change he said sure but this time it was about $50 worth of bills.Gottcha kids sure laughed and he was more careful on emptying his pockets.LOL
I love your new line especially the polka dots.
The worst washer disaster is a marker. How the top comes off in the washer when its hard to pull off with fingers is a wonder!. Thank you for the giveaway. I agree about the taupe, it's just right with the reds, whites and blues.
Taupe is today's color!
Its amazing how Independence Trail will blend so easily with your previous fabric lines. Everyone seems to have covered my washer/dryer accidents, however shortly after my wedding I made one of my stupidest mistake ever. Never learned about bleach in "Homemaking" class. After filling the washer with water, suds and dark clothes, I poured a cup of bleach into the water. My husband still reminds me of his splotched work clothes.
I can't remember what I've run through the washer, although I'm sure I've done my share of silly things. Our dryer did catch fire once and when I opened the door - FLAMES!!!!! Lost an entire load of clothes not to mention the dryer.
When My kids were young and needed change for anything, they just checked on top of the dryer. When I found change, either before or after washing, that's where it went.
Beautiful line - I hope I win!!!
The worst laundry crisis I endured when my children were growing up occurred in the dryer, not the washer, so I don't know if this counts. My lessons on emptying pockets fell on deaf ears. Imagine my horror when the clothes were dry and they were all spotted with many colors. My son had left crayons in his pocket!! We had to remove the drum from the dryer to clean it (no small feat), and use a razor to get all the wax off the felt padding around the drum.
My worst laundry crisis occurred in the dryer. I thought my three boys/men in the house had finally learned to remove everything from their pockets before putting then in the hamper, so I was no longer checking. Silly me. When I removed a load of clothes from the dryer, they were covered with many spots in many colors. One of my sons had left crayons in his pocket! We had to remove the drum from the machine--no small feat--to clean it, and to scrape the felt padding around the drum with a razor to get all the wax off. All those hours would have been better spent by my checking pockets.
Oh my! I am head over heels in love with your new line! The taupes make me giddy and I'm fairly certain that I need an entire bolt of those polka dots. How long must we wait? I'm sorry for the loss of your chocolate. We ranch so you can count on the fact that if it can be found in a pasture and fit in a pocket, it has been washed. We ear mark our calves and when the kids were small, they would collect the tips of the ears because they were so very soft. I often found those in the washer.
Those fabrics are calling my name--can't decide which I like best.
Ask my husband about pockets, washing machines and cell phones. It was not fun replacing especially when he had to rebuild his contacts. Ugh!
What a lovely new fabric line! Dear hubby is having surgery on Tuesday, so your giveaway is a nice plus to that day! :o)
Love the new fabric...thanks for the chance to win some. Sorry about the wasted Cadbury!
Love the new fabrics!
Even though I know I need to check all pockets, there seems to be a kleenex or paper towel that goes through the wash. Not that bad unless I have a black t-shirt in the load and then you need to rewash it since it is full of white stuff.
I love the fabric and I love the historic name you chose! :( about the wash incident......
Becca
Beautiful fabrics, and yes,the double dots are fun! Lipstick in a pants pocket, found it when I took the clothes out of the washer. Too bad I didn't find the second tube before I put them in the dryer....
A beautiful fabric collection, as always.
The new fabrics are lovely-as usual, and I do like the taupe. Lipstick-that's what I usually leave in the pocket of my favorite jeans. I say usually-because I have done it several times. You'd think I'd learn!
Your new fabrics are beautiful but really am waiting for a preview of Pollys new wools. I was at the Florida hook in and saw Polly and she gave me a quick glance at the new wools. Can't wait to get my hands on some of them. She also told me about having her condo photographed for another magazine but I forgot to ask her what one because I love her decorating. So hopefully you will put in what magizine I should be waiting for.
I love all the new fabrics. I like to mix and match your lines because they all coordinate. Red, White, and Blue always in season.
I have a terrible habit of putting my watch in my pants pocket when doing the clean-up after dinner. The insides of my beautiful little watch were changed out time and again. The watch repairman was very familiar with my watch:) The taupe fabric in your new little looks smashing. I'm collecting taupes and grays so I'm excited to see this new line. Many thanks!
Oh such purdy fabric!
Inspiration for quilt dreams!
Diane in Illinois
Beautiful fabrics in stunning colors and beautiful combinations. I wish I had the lucky winner of these ;o)
I'm using Wiscasset for my Famer's Wife Blocks and this would go great with it!!!
Love your fabrics.
Stickers are probably the worst thing I have ever washed and dried. My kids would love to put cute little stickers on their clothes and those things never want to come off completely once you dry them.
I Love your new fabric. I also like polka dots. I have several polka dot blouses and dresses. I am guilty of leaving tissues in my pockets, not unusual but very messy.
One more time -- LOVE the taupes. Yes -- I really do LOVE the taupes. My personal worst in the laundry department was the BLACK marker in a load of white and light blue Oxford cloth shirts -- a large percentage of my husband's work wardrobe and right before a major business trip. What does not kill us makes us stronger.......
Every new fabric line of yours I think is my favorite and then the next one comes out and it's my favorite. But this one is really my absolute favorite!! Love the taupes. Oh I may need a FQ bundle of this one. What did we do before apps??!!!?? So happy they made one just for you:)
Oh My, I couldn't hit the comment button fast enough. I LOVE the fabrics!!! Every teeny, tiny little bit I can see! Thanks for the chance to win, scrap quilts are my favorite. Once washed an entire pack of juicy fruit gum, what a mess!
OMG this range is amazing, the addition of taupes is just icing on the cake.
It's not really stupid, actually pretty normal but aggravating!! Tissues. My Mom would tuck them up her sleeve and as much as I would check, every load would have tissue bits. I told her that we did not need to re-cycle tissues!!
Loving the taupe with those blues!
My husband is a farmer so I'm always finding twine, nails etc in the washing machine!
WOW -- lovely! Might like this almost as much as Flag Day Farms -- maybe. Thanks for the chance at some wonderful 'scraps'.
What beautiful fabrics!~ I love the dots on dots. :-)
Worst laundry accident~ someone left a pack of gum in their pocket~ the papers were in the wash, but I thought it was just paper left in pockets~ the gum really did a number on everything in the dryer! :-o Yikes!
I, too, have dried some chocolate in the dryer and ruined several tops.....really mad at myself for wasting the chocolate (and the tops)!
The new line is beautiful, I can't wait to see it in person :)
Bubble gum does not wash all that well either. Thanks for the giveaway. Hope I win because the poka dots are right up my alley.
Sorry to hear about the egg. Ugh. I'd love to win the scraps. Whist great fabric.
Love the dark blue print in the background and the medium blue and red prints. Polka dots are fun to.
Mostly what I put through the wash is kleenex. My mom accidently left her unicorn pin on a piece of clothing once and when the pin came out of the dryer it was a unicorn with a very droopy horn!
These are just gorgeous! Sorry about your laundry. I've definitely washed some things that shouldn't have been, one being cash. Fortunately it dried fairly well!
Very much like your new fabric line. I am quite the fan of red, white and blue quilts. I rarely use white, as I can stain anything in minutes.
When I read your post about things left in pockets going into the washer, I began to giggle. Every load of laundry I check for items. I have allergies and have tissue in every pocket. I was in a hurry and forgot to check, tissue clung to everything. Ended up having to rewash the load to get the tissue off. Then clean out the washer. Done, thought was resolved and found I washed hubbys wallet in the next load. Yes I bought him another wallet. Turns out leather does not wash well.
These would be the perfect scraps to use for the scrappy quilt of valor I want to make this year. Thanks for the giveaway. I washed and dried my husband's good pen one time. It ruined quite a few items of clothing. :-(
Oh ... how pretty! I LOVE the taupe addition. Nice contrast ... :)
Sorry about the egg ... I put a green crayon through the laundry once when daughter was young. Oops. Underwear looked like we had all been 'sick' for awhile -- hehehe!
Love, love, love your fabrics, and would love to win some, no matter how small! :>)
I wash a lot of money, coins and paper. I say, finders keepers and at least it is clean....
I did wash a red pen once, and hubby's shirts and our underwear were stained.....light pink. I loved it!
Thanks, gloria g. Hemingway, SC
The stupist/silliest thing I put through the washer AND dryer was my debit card...in my jeans pocket. I can't live without my debit card! How can I go online and buy more fabric if I've ruined my debit card! Luckily it was fine. And I could once again go online and shop! Yay!
Let's see...I ran my husband's iPod through the wash and miraculously it continued to work (for a little while). There have been pens and money but the worst was tar. Yes, the black yucky stuff from the street. My son had a piece in his pocket and I missed it.
It looks like a lovely new line, and I'd love to get even your scraps. I think the worst is always a pen that my husband leaves in a pocket. What a mess. Kathie L in Allentown
LaLaLa I'd love to win! Pick me please :) hehehe
Washing machine- two small rocks! Little boys put them in their pockets. The noise of those rocks was awful! But the machine survived. I check pockets now.
I love the new line of fabrics - taupe - yumm.
Hi,i'm french.I lived in san diego with my family few years ago.One day my washing got smelly and smelly.I washed and washed dried and dried it got worst I bought a new washing powder cleaned the mashines,no way a nightmare...Guess what?I found a little plastic pouch in one of my 10 years old son pocket pants. inside a crumpy stinky dried little cheese sandwish!!!
YEEEEEEEEEE
love the new collection and it would look great added to mine!
I hate it when something goes thru the wash! Now that the kids are not at home anymore, it is just usually a golf tee! I love your new line and would be honored to be a winner
Love Independence Trail. The inclusion of taupe is a great addition.
Love the taupes and especially the polka dots. Your new fabric line looks great. I would make a good home for the scraps!
In our house GUM makes a regular appearance in the washer and dryer. Very frustrating.
Love the combo of taupe with the reds and blues. Looking forward to getting my hands on some of this!
glad to get online this morning. Independance Trail Sounds like a good name for your new line. Someone will be lucky & I hope it's me this time.

Oh no, you must have been so disappointed to find that egg you were saving was gone.... my husband tried to dry grain for his chickens in his mother's clothes dryer once. He learned how to take apart and put back together a dryer that day!
Love the taupe florals. Looking forward to getting my hands on the new line.
Love it as I have loved all of your fabrics. The stupidest thing I have ever washed was my Blackberry. Yup! I did it.
Beautiful fabric, I'll be checking out the stores for it. My mother always had Kleenix in pockets and I do it sometimes too. Sally
Love the new fabric, just beautiful with the taupes. When I was first married (MANY years ago) I put a red sweatshirt in the wash with all of my husband's underwear and t-shirts. They all came out hot pink. Was truly embarassed.
The new line is very pretty. Can't wait to see what you make with it.

Cadbury creme eggs are my favorite candy! I am so happy when the Easter candy appears in the stores.
Let see, we have washed two ipods and I think three cell phones in our house....embarrasing.
Luvin the new fabric colors. Luckily I haven't had a major washer incident, just the usual culprits--kleenex, coins, nails and screws.
I love the new fabric!! I will definitely be buying some the first chance I get.
The worst thing I ever sent through the wash was a fish oil capsule. I washed and re-washed the fishy clothes and was never able to get the smell out. All went in the trash.
I love this fabric. The colors are just lovely together! Thank you for the chance at the giveaway!
Washed coins, gum, tickets, and recently my Quilt Guild pin :(
Love Independence Trail! It's gorgeous! And I agree with the chewing gum. Nasty stuff after it's been dried. And it sticks to the dryer as well.
You must stop designing such beautiful and perfect fabric! I cannot keep up with all the projects I want to make with it. But if you stopped the world would be a bleak and dismal place, so continue on....I will just have to become a superwoman, like you!
Hi Laurie-
I just love the new collection. Please enter me in your drawing. Thank you. Debi in YL,CA
Love, love your new fabric & would be thrilled to win some of it. I recently washed a full 20 piece pack of gum in my husbands jacket pocket. Everything really smelled minty fresh.
I love all things red, white & blue and am always searching for a neutral to use with it and end up with same old cream. Love the taupe.
Stupidest thing I ran through the washer was probably gum. Sticky pockets.
oh lovely new line of fabrics
I can't thing of a 'worst' thing that went through the wash but we REGULARLY seem to like to wash kleenex that have been left in pockets (I confess I am a bad pocket checker when it comes to laundry)
I always love your red white and blue collections. I'm anxious to see the patterns you design to work with your new collection.
Have you ever run a cherry chapstick through the wash? NOT a pretty sight.
Love the new fabric line. I like polka dots and think taupe is a color that goes with everything.
I never used to check my pockets.....till the change in the pockets killed not one, but 2 pumps in the washer. Now I have to. :)
love the new fabric collection - beautiful warm colors. I'd love a chance to win your scraps. no sad washing machine stories however my dryer is on the fritz at the moment. Thanks Melody mbryan10@comcast.net
What a beautiful line of fabric, as always!
Living on a farm, what hasn't gone through the washer? Nails, nuts, bolts, grease, shoptowels, gum, farm receipts...etc.
Thanks for the chance to win your beautiful new line! Absolutely gorgeous....
Like the previous fabric lines.. this one looks beautiful and I can't wait to use them! Lizzie
Your fabric line is beautiful - as always. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Little Traverse Bay Quilt Guild next month!!
Can't wait to see your new line! Too many stupid things washed here, let's see there is my husband's wallet or how about the chapstick which went from the washer to the dryer. What a mess! Thanks for your giveaway.
As with all of your lines, I want it! I am so curious to see what you are doing with those fabrics - right now I envision something a little bit Old West, and that taupe will work right into it for me. It is lovely and can't wait to see more. Thanks for the chance to win. I'm off to get a Cadbury egg!
I washed and dried my husband's ipod (it was in my pocket - I was the one that used it). After 24 hours in a bag of rice it works just fine. Whew!!
The colors are wonderful... can't wait! I wouldn't mind winning that.. a baby quilt to donate would be great! Hmmm, the worst thing that I've ever put thru the wash was when my kids were little and I forgot to check the pockets... probably crayons. And just recently... my DH had forgotten several cough drops (cherry "red" ones) in his jacket pocket! I haven't had to check pockets in a long time... what can I say... he had a few spots of red on his old work pants... so I can't complain too much!

Sorry to hear about the egg disaster...sounds messy.
Please count me in..your fabric looks amazing!
I'm a grandma!!! We were surprised by a leap year baby from my daughter and son in law!! That's all that's on my mind for now, but the new line is awesome :) k.bugbee@att.net
Love the addition of taupe to the fabric line. Would love to make a scrappy table runner with scraps!!
