We made lots of these....

And then we all mailed them to Moda Fabrics to be made into these.....
Well, boy did we! Moda asked for 1800 blocks to make 100 quilts. At last count, they received over 12000 blocks with many more packages not even opened up yet. The best guess is that instead of the planned for 100 quilts - it's going to be closer to 1000 quilts. Uh, they all won't be made for the Flag Day deadline, that's for sure, but they will all be made eventually.
Thank you everyone! Thanks especially to Moda Fabrics who donated the fabric and especially to Lissa Alexander and Susan Stiff who spearheaded this project. Some blocks and accompanying fabric is making it's way to me and I will do my part putting some of these tops together.
Thanks everyone!

Awesome results! I'm so glad I took the time to make ONE STAR and send it off - makes me feel good!
That is just so awesome! Thank you for the update!
What a fabulous update! This has certainly been a "feel good" project to participate in!
It was such a great project... just see what can be accomplished! Those quilts will surely be gifts from the heart!
Woo Hoo... It was such a pleasure to be apart of this project. Hugs
Yay! That is so great!
So neat that they had such an awesome response. I am expecting three of them to arrive at my doorstep today for me to machine quilt! :)
So good to hear of the fabulous outpouring of generosity. I would love to help piece and quilt some of the quilts if you need an extra volunteer! I loved piecing the blocks!

That is just AMAZING!
WOW!!!
That is just phenominal!~
Wowza, 12,000! I made 2 blocks ☺ I'd love to help also if you need volunteers to do the piecing!
I suspect that Moda is overwhelmed by the response --- as am I. I expected the request to be successful --- quilters are so generous in the use of their talents --- but 1000 quilts! Wow! I'm glad I participated!
That is wonderful, quilters are the best.

One of my favorite quilt patterns of yours, so nice of you to make a few quilts as well. Such a worthwhile cause

Awesome!
Wowie! Let us all know when the call is put out to piece the tops. :)
That is absolutely amazing! Congratulations to you, Lissa and Susan ~ it was a terrific idea that will result with many, many wonderful quilts.
Hey... maybe this would be a cool way to get quilts made for Market! Just post a block pattern, ask folks to make one using Minick/Simpson fabric and send it to you! :)
Wow!!!!! Quilters are amazing, aren't they?
Got my two tops yesterday and UPS'd them back to Moda today. Wow. Amazing! Over 12,000 blocks. That's a lot of quilts. Thank you for doing this! I'm a vet, don't need a quilt, but I have for others and I know first hand they are appreciated.
