Spike and Chester

Remember the old cartoon that had a big bulldog and a little annoying terrier? The terrier would bug, bug, bug the bulldog? That is what the last 15 hours have been like. Poor Otto. He cannot get any relief from Gibby. Gibby would be happy to puppy wrestle 23 1/2 hours per day. After their morning walk (hey, that was an experience! one leash for each arm) I had to give poor Otto a time-out from Gibby and put him in a crate. Just so the poor guy could take a nap. I don't think Otto had this result in mind when he was trying to get in the door to find Gibby last night. 10 month old Gibby is RELENTLESS.

Okay, enough of that..... Are you ready to start thinking of crisp days, falling leaves and things that go bump in the night? This is a Fat Quarter bundle of Halloween Night and a pattern for the Spooky quilt. Here is the Charm Pack ™ and the Treats Not Tricks apron pattern.Make a comment here on this post about your worst house guest experience or about anything at all - before midnight July 11th and you could be a winner. 2 entries will be picked by Otto and Gibby and you could win either the Fat Quarter Bundle and pattern or the Charm pack ™ and pattern. Ta-ta.

Laurie

Postscript: In rereading, I see I might have given some wrong ideas about Otto. In no way is he a bad house guest. I do think his house guesting experience might be a little trying for him. His host, Gibby is the difficult one. Seriously, how can a good guy like this be a bad house guest? Here he is trying to catch a rest from puppy wrestling.

Worst house guest? We had a rental house that was overrun with MICE!! They had no fear of us...I couldn't wait to get out of there...

Love the fabrics...

I haven't really had a "worst" houseguest experience. My BEST houseguest experience was when my best friend came to visit me 5 weeks after my son was born, and I convinced her to move across the country to live with us. She slept on our couch in a 700 sq. foot apartment for 6 weeks until she found her own place. It was so much fun!

I shared a room with a fellow quilter once and found out she was a terrible roommate. She wore a mask and earplugs to bed and still complaned that I woke her when I came in so late at 11pm!
I'd love to win the pattern and fat quarters of the Halloween prints. I was at Lake Street Mercantile yesterday and saw the quilt in progress but they were already sold out of kits for it.

I don't know if I've had a worst house guest... unless you count those furry, thousand legger bugs... I HATE those things. If my husband is in the other room and hears "KEVIN!!!", he knows exactly what I want him to do.

So far he's killed two this week. Yuck!

I love the fabrics and your patterns. Have about three waiting in the wings to work on.

Thanks so much for hosting this!

My worst house guest would have been the bat that flew in uninvited and wouldn't leave. Bats are hard to get out just like some relatives.

I would have to agree -- our worst house guest was either the bat that invited itself in, or the bees who decided our back room ceiling was the perfect place to build their nest. Ugh!

Thankfully I have never had a worst house guest experience. Maybe because I have a small house and don't invite anyone except for family to stay over :) I would absolutely love to win one of the giveaways & am keeping fingers and toes crossed.

Well I've not had a worst house guest, but I have had a good one. My husbands brother helps watch our dogs when we go on vacation. I swear the house is cleaner when we get back home. The dogs just love him. So he can come over anytime to watch our house. If your single so is he, he's a great kid.

We've never had any bad people house guests, but one time while on vacation in a wonderful little cabin on a lake in New Hampshire, it must have been mosquito hatching season and we woke up in the middle of the night to a cabin FULL of swarming mosquitos. It was horrifying! Next time we went, they had replaced the screens! Whew!

Lovely giveaway too!

The worst house guest we ever had was a relative. He suggested we have this great big dinner as a family, went to the store with my dad, picked out a roast and all the fixin's, then expected my dad to pick up the tab. His daughter clogged a toilet with a nursing pad, and they didn't offer to pay anything. It was a lovely experience for my family! The best part? They left! ;-)

My worst house guest experience was a relative of my husband's who stayed overnight. And thank goodness it was only one night! I had to go to work the next morning, but she decided she wanted to stay up watching television at the other end of the house til 2am. No problem! Until she came crashing to bed at my end of the house and kept me up for a half hour...

My husband went to work early the next morning, but warned her that she wanted to stay out of my way til I'd had my shower and some coffee. Instead, she talked to me nonstop from the moment I left my bedroom, including through the bathroom door! Privacy, what's that?

The final straw was actually going to take my shower and finding that after her shower the previous night, my pest, er, guest, had thrown my clean towel in the hamper and her sopping wet towel on top of it. My husband had been nice enough to use the last clean towel for HIS shower, so...

Let's just say she won't be invited to stay over again anytime soon.

(Wow, that was therapeutic! Also, I love the new line!)

My husband had a friend come upstate to visit from NYC. I was pregnant at the time. This person proceeded to tell us he was coming up every weekend for the entire summer. When we told him no, he got completely manic. He walked off yelling, then his wife called from the city and asked if we could please drive him to the train. I don't know WHY I said yes, I guess for his wife. So we drove in the dark night with this cuckoo bird. Nice, huh?

Danielle said...

My house had 3 bedrooms, for a family of four... No extra "guest-room"! Stops any potential bad house guests in their tracks, when the only option is the couch! LOL

Hey - this is theraputic! Here is houseguest #2 story.

Yet another city friend came upstate to visit. He proceeded to get totally wasted. He also brought my husband out to get lots of steak and seafood which, oh dur who paid for it? The hubby. To top it all off the guy is diabetic and isn't supposed to drink at all. Do I need to say I have told the hubby NO MORE HOUSEGUESTS?! Well, except for family because even though they drive you nuts, you love 'em.

Hope this isn't TMI ladies!

Our worst house guest was our friend's doggies stayed at our place last year. They- two English Sheep dogs wouldn't move at at all for hours from the front entrance after they were dropped off as they were so mad about they were left. I can't think of any bad houseguests we've had. I do remember staying at a friend's parents house one time and my then 16 month old daughter cried ALL NIGHT. The worst houseguest experience was not mine but my husband's. He babysat my parents 2 dogs while we went to a family reunion far away. Their dog Nicki was so neurotic that she was destroying everything. He blocked her off in the kitchen but she was so panicked she jumped through the see-through fireplace - while it was on! He was ever so glad to see her leave.

When I lived in Oklahoma..... I was chattering away on the phone and my daughter ran into the kitchen screaming there was a tarantula on the entry way floor. EEEEKS, what to do! Apparently being quite large it snuck in the door when some little darling came in or out. I dropped the phone, grabbed a LARGE bucket and quickly threw it on top. Now what, I had a tarantula trapped inside my bucket, the bucket did not move. Phew. I s l o w l y slid the bucket across the floor and out the front door and on to the side walk. Grabbed my garden hose and whooshed it out to the street. Where it got run over by a car to the cheers of all the neighbors who had gathered over the drama LOL! Would love to whip up something from your cute fabric bundle!

the worst experience was a few years back. My in-laws came to stay as our middle son was graduating from HS. Mom -in- law became ill, I didn't think she should go to the graduation ceremony, it was outside and hot...but she insisted...we almost missed graduation (aaagggg) but the worst part was she was so sick that: 1. I thought she was literally going to die in my house... and
2.it was over TWO weeks before the Dr would give her permission to fly and when they got the permission (praise the Lord)they booked their flight for THE FOLLOWING WEEK because they got a better rate!

My worst was probably not so bad compared to some; it was an old friend and her two little kids that needed a place to spend the night. I had little kids at the time also so it was like a slumber party. Except not as fun. They complained about the dinner I cooked for them, about the bed (my daughter's) they would be sleeping in, then her son threw up all over my living room carpet. Complained all morning about the birds outside the window that woke them up. I was glad when our slumber party was over :)

worst house guest... well its actually a good friend of mine and I was out of town and he was there hanging out with my roomie at the time. I have one of those popason chairs (I call them turtle chairs since the seat looks like an inside out turtle shell) anywho he broke the base of it! Well then I asked him to replace it of coarse because that is one of my favorite reading spots! he bought a flower pot to replace the base... needless to say it didnt work to well so then he got the bright idea to throw it over the balcony the next time I was out of town!! I know great friend right?! He really is we've known each other a long time and this all happened in our younger "crazier" days.... Luckily I have a fabulous sister and bro inlaw who bought me a new chair to replace it that christmas :)

Worst house guest... when I was in school, I went home for Spring Break. I had a good friend who lived with her family and also needed a break, so I offered my apartment to her to house-sit ~ and for a break. Everything was in perfect condition when I got home, that wasn't the problem. But I found out a few months later that she had gone through all my drawers, my closets, every single thing in the house, just nosing around. Journals, notebooks, photo albums, little saved whatevers... she had snooped through E V E R Y T H I N G.

Poor Otto. He's going to sleep for a month when he gets to go home. Do you think he'll start leaving brochures for kennels around the house for LeighAnn? :)

My house guest story is about when I was a house guest with another friend at his friend's house. My friend had too much to drink and fell asleep in the living room. Everyone went to bed and he woke up and tried to find his bedroom. He found the door to the garage which he opened and immediately set off the alarm in the middle of the night! What a commotion! Everyone went back to bed and he decided to find the bathroom later in the night - oops - wrong door again - I was so embarrassed - we were never invited there again!! True story!!!

Making a long story shorter...
We had a house guest that took 2 hour showers, was eating us out of house and home, and his dog was getting on our nerves. We still had a few days to endure so late one night my husband and I decided to launch a plan to get him out! We pretended that we got an emergency call from his parents and that we had to leave town. We went so far as stuffing an overnight bag with blankets for effect and loaded the car. He asked to leave the dog in the yard for a few hours and we said OK. We waited around the corner and as soon as he drove away we went back home, closed all the blinds, and watched television in the backroom for a few hours until he came back for the dog. As soon as we heard him pick up the dog we opened up the house again and enjoyed the weekend!

Anonymous said...

We let friends stay in our house while we were away and had to spend several hundred dollars having the carpet cleaned because their dog wasn't quite as housebroken as they thought he was. We are still friends though!
I would love to win the Halloween fabric and maybe get a head start this year!

I've had a good laugh visualizing your "puppies playing". We also have had a visit from a "grand-dog" that thought it would be interesting to see my fabric stash (not all of it, mind you!). In his haste to paw through the piles, he revealed some that I am sure I didn't purchase! It did result in a more orderly storage system, so, I guess, I should be suitably grateful.

The worst house guest experience...my brother in law and his wife came for dinner one evening...and left 4 days later. We lived in a tiny narrow mobile home and there was no place for anyone. I had three children and they had three. My husband and I questioned each other "did you invite them to stay so long?" Neither of us had, but what do you do? We couldn't hurt their feelings so we toughed it out and they finally went home. Needless to say we thought long and hard before we invited anyone to dinner again.

We invited a couple from Poland, who we'd had some business dealing with, for a few days while they were in FL for the winter. Well, they stayed a week. With us. On an island. No escape. Have you ever been around anyone who just talks and talks and talks nonstop and never really says anything and yet they just keep on talking because well i don't know why and they just run on and on and are also very dramatic in doing so with their gestures and body language and when you finally can get a work in edgewise they have a similiar experience or story to tell or know more than you do about the subject and just have to tell you aalllll about theirs because well you know they just keep going and then about half way through it leads into another story and then you have to eventually get back to the first one and then you have to fix dinner and they follow you into the kitchen to continue talking so as to be good house guests and keep you company and then after dinner they don't help you clean up but they do keep you company some more and and and and.... ? get the idea? well, this was the wife. Poor man.

Our best house guest was a foster dog we had for more than a year. He was a shepherd of some sort and small, so we told people he was a mini shepherd. My husband and I fell in love with him, but with a Mastiff and St. Bernard already, we didn't feel we had room for another permanent resident no matter how small. He deserved a family where he would be top dog.
This little guy was the perfect house guest. He ate laying down in his crate, slept only on a corner of the bed and made the sweetest sighing sounds when he was tired.
He was adopted by a family and is doing great now!
Oh, but we miss him!

I'm betting that my mother's worst houseguest was my aunt and uncle's only child Cousin Duke...a very large labrador retriever. He slobbered, drooled and suffered from apparent gastric discomfort. He pulled a folded up rollaway bed into the kitchen where the entire family reunion group was eating. He was pretty much a house dog, especially after he killed many of mom's chickens. We laugh about it now, but I don't think she was all that amused at the time. Of the 17 guests (and 7 family members)there that weekend, I've never heard anyone recall anything anybody else did or said. He was the star.

We have not had bad house guests, but we had a bad weekend at another house...or should I say BOAT. We went with neighbors for a weekend on their sailboat. It was 105 degrees in the shade...and there was only shade on the dock...there was no wind, and they would not use the motor...it was a sailboat, you know. We slept in the bed below deck, where it was even hotter, and the light on top of the mast had to be lighted all night since we anchored near a shipping lane in the Chesapeake Bay. The light shined in on us all night. Got up the next day to the smell of diesel fuel leaking, and A....ONE...burned pancake that 4 of us split. Yumm. I got sunburned and seasick and we could not go in the water because of jellyfish...everywhere. I could not wait to go home. Well, we ended up spending ANOTHER night on the darned boat...yippee. Sunday AM I begged to go back to their shore house. We did. Shortly after, we left to drive the 4 hours back home. I was never so thankful to see our HOME again.

We did stay friends, but the weekend on the boat was never mentioned again.

Our most recent house guest was a little sparrow who flew in the front door and landed on the windowsill. Our two terriers came to immediate attention and climbed up the dining room furniture to get to the poor girl. She is non stop energy. The only way to wear her out is to walk her several times a day. If you don't, there's no sleeping for any of us. Thanks for the chance to win. I'm really glad you have a new halloween line again. Fall fabrics are the best. Thanks, Karen

Worst houseguest would have to have been my ex-inlaws who came to visit after my husband had died. They proceeded to criticize everything I did as a single mom! BTW, I had 4 children and raised them by myself and they have all turned out to be wonderful people. So, the ex-inlaws must have been wrong! I absolutely love the fabrics and have never won a giveaway!!!

The worst house guest actually tried to invite themselves to stay several days. We own the family homestead, built by my husband's grandfather. Some distant relatives showed up and stayed and stayed for hours. Finally, she asked where would they be sleeping? I must have looked very surprised because she responded, "well it is the family homestead. We have the right to stay here." I smiled and said no problem as long as I get her portion of the mortgage that I have been paying for the last 20 years. She packed up her family, left and still hasn't spoken to us. Oh well.

Pretty! I don't think I have ANY Halloween fabric in my stash. Maybe you could remedy that? LOL

Not may house guest here, Not enough room for the two of us, add one more person and we'd be like sardines! LOL

Would love the chance to win. Worst house guest? Well, he has since passed and I miss him terribly, but this family member stayed at our house and someone was in our one bathroom, so he went out the front door (in daylight) and did his business off the front porch. How do I know? I caught him in the act.

I've been pleased with everyone that has stayed with us through the years. I guess I'm lucky to have good friends and family!

Otto is just as cute as Gibby. I'm sure he was happy for the time out. Our guest dog is my daughter's dog, Jerry Lee. He is cute and certainly lovable. He is about the same age as Gibby. Honestly, I know just how Otto feels. No offense Jerry Lee.

Once my friend came to visit and brought her two out-of-control kids. The boy locked my son in the guest room and the girl wouldn't go to sleep and whined until her mom went to bed with her, at 11 o'clock. Good times!

Worst guests - the family of raccoons who took up residence in the ceiling our solarium. You could hear them running back and forth all night long. It took a trapper a week to remove all of them and relocate them to better digs than our house.

Those are lovely fabrics!

Hmmm...the worst house guest would be my sister-in-law, bless her heart, who liked to hunt up obscure things to clean. Drove me nuts!!!!

Gosh I guess I don't invite worst house guests to my home. Probably the only thing that would apply here is a snake that was coiled around my vacuum hose which I very proudly caught with a butterfly net! My husband was hiding in the next room! What a coward he is...LOL

This is my daughter's worst house guest and it happened over 4th of July. Her SIL is a dog handler; she grooms, trains & shows Golden Retreivers all over the country. My daughter was told on Facebook by her SIL that she wanted to visit for the holiday weekend. SIL didn't inform my DD that she would be in a local dog show and that she was traveling with 10 Goldens.(yes Ten!). DD is at work when SIL arrives after a 22 hour drive and turns the 10 dogs loose on DD's fenced backyard. DD comes home, find dog poo and dog hair all over her house and then sees the backyard garden. Understand DD has worked on garden since Feb. as she lives in the deep south.
SIL stacks the dog crates in the guest bedroom so all ten dogs would sleep there. Later SIL informs DD that her boyfriend is flying in on Fri. & please get him at airport?
DD packed her bags, rented a condo on beach in Florida and had a great time with 3 GFs over the long weekend. I say, hire a cleaning crew, send SIL the bill and dump the DH, who never told DD that 10 dogs were going to be house guests. Grrr

My worst house guest was a deer that jumped into our pool and then crashed into the garage. And believe it or not, the deer was okay. Pool, not so much.

When my son was small, we had an unexpected visitor. We lived in a small town where locking doors at night was optional. Our son woke us up saying there was a strange lady sleeping on our couch. Turns out the woman got her directions mixed up; she turned right instead of left and went to the place at the end of the road. Her friend knew she would be late arriving; so told her to just come in and make herself at home. We all had a good laugh and got her safely to her intended destination.

My worst house "guest" is the dust bunnies. They invited themselves years ago and have never left!

PS. DD's greyhound was not leaving the master bedroom while the ten Golden Retrievers ruled the house.

Our neighbors dog comes to visit us since the neighbors are rarely home and the dog likes the attention. All is fine except the dog did get skunked a couple of months ago and even after a bath we still get a whiff of skunk every now and then.
Love the quilt!

When my daughter was about 10 she told a friend that she would take care of her rabbit for her. The friend was gone for about eight months! Hubey was a very large rabbit and he wasn't house trained (can one house train a rabbit?) Also our cat thought that he should play with (read eat) Hubey, so we had to keep him locked in a separate room when we weren't home. It was very entertaining.

My worst house guest experience was my former father in law who thought that if he smoked in the bathroom with the exhaust on at 3am, no one would know that he was smoking in the house. Seriously?! We wouldn't notice?

It was easy for me to think of my worst house guest experience. Two years ago, at Christmas, my SIL came to stay with us for a week. My SIL, who is bipolar, decided to go off her medicine prior to her visit. To say she was unstable is an understatement! There was a huge family fight on Christmas Eve and the rest of her stay was un comfortable to say the least. Added to this my twin 2 yr olds were sick, one with a double ear infection, the other with a single. I've tried to put that guest experience out of my mind, but every now and then I think back on it and shudder.

DonnaCME said...

My "worst houseguest" would have to have been my sister's dog....fox terrier. The terrier was not friendly to *any* dogs, and was aggressive to my docile little beagle, even drawing blood. The mama bear came out in me....you just don't want to be hurtin' my furbabies!!!

Jan said...

My worst house guest experience was years ago. Actually a dear quilting friend from when we were both newly-marrieds. We had moved away and had a toddler when she came for a visit and the whole time, she shooed him away as if he were a little pet!
I love your new group! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

My worst house guest experience was with family. They came for a long weekend and I thought it would never end. They seemed to think our home was a hotel, my children were servants and meals were catered to their specifications. Oh was I ever glad when that weekend was over! Fortunately, now that we live in the same state, there are no more overnight stays so the get togethers can be short and enjoyable.

Love the Halloween fabric -- it's my favorite holiday and I love to create things for it!

I really haven't had any bad houseguest experiences, however, I have had excited dog experiences. My retriever mix went through the screen door in his excitement to get with his 'friend'. He was quite shocked, however only slightly "strained"! Ha Ha!

DebrafromMD said...

My worst houseguest was of the small, furry rodent variety. Helped himself to anything he could chew through in the pantry and left droppings in inopportune places. We tried to catch him with sticky traps but he managed to get out of those- minus a lot of fur. I told my husband that now we had a bald, pissed off mouse. Finally has to resort to poison baits. Fortunately, he arrived solo and we haven't had any further problems.

I am sure Otto votes for Gibby as WHE.

But my Worst Houseguest Ever, was a friend of my husband who brought his motorcycle dude brother. His leather and metal pants scratched every wooden chair I owned. He never sat in the same one twice. And, although we don't allow smoking in the house, there was a cigarette in the bathroom hamper which had fortunately gone out on a wet pair of socks. Ugh!!!

I could go on but he was definitely the WHE.

Awww, poor Otto. My worst house guest has to be my in-laws...When they came up to help us install a new surround in our shower, my MIL brought all their own food with her for a 3 day stay! I was too shocked to be offended....it's been 2 1/2 years and they haven't been back...Love the Halloween fabs!

What an interesting experience you guys are having. My friend who is staying with us has a 16 month old son. We have a 5 month old puppy. They are buddies but sometimes the puppy looks like she is tired of the tugging and laying and rolling around. I try to give her a break by bringing her into my sewing room and blocking him out. That lasts for all of about 5 minutes and she is jumping over the barrier to go hang out with him and get layed on and rolled on and pinched. Some much for needing a break. LOL Thank you for the wonderful give-away. Take care and God bless, Cory

Emma said...

Worst houseguest has to be squirrels in the attic, followed by garden snakes in the garage, and roly poly pillbugs who are always dying inside. I thought of some people to include, but that wouldn't be kind. Sometimes visiting dogs make the list, too.
Thanks for another delightful giveaway.

Hi Otto and Gibby!
Our worst house guests were an army of ants =( They took over the whole kitchen and threatened my dog Sugar's treats! It took months to get rid of them-and sometimes even now one or two will still show up unannounced. But our cat Xeno runs them out.
And Halloween is the BEST.

I have had several house guests who could wrestle for the honor of "Worst." My late mother-in-law is pretty close to the top of the list. She was a serious diabetic and told me she had to stick to her diet very strictly. I followed her requests very carefully and even weighed her portions. If any of us left the house for a moment she would sneak into the cabinets and the refrigerator looking for sweets and when she was caught she would say she was tidying up for me.

Barb in Mi said...

Hmm, worst house guest: I guess for me it was a bat that had entered my rental apartment - and I had no clue what to do. Now I know and it can't spook me any longer... Hopefully Otto got some rest - and Gibby takes a break herself. Nice fall / halloweeny fabric and pattern - thanks so much for the giveaway!

My worst house guests I am sad to say were my parents 10 years ago when I first had my daughter. She was my first and they were just so set in their ways of the way things should be done. They had very old fashioned ways of bringing up a baby and my house was never clean enough for them. It was a very long month. Needless to say when they left and went home to Canada (we live in Australia) we breathed a great sigh of relief and did things the way we wanted to. And she was always a very happy healthy baby and that is all that matters. We never had another trip like that though thank goodness and always really look forward to them coming back :)

My in-laws, all five of them, had to stay with us when there mountain was evacuated from a fire. I was glad to help. Our house was brand new and we had no back yard, just dirt. My fil went out back to look at something. I had just watered down the patio and my pots. He went out and came in- no wiping his feet. He actually got mad when we called him on it!!

When our children were younger, we "dog-sat" dogs of friends during the summer while they traveled back to the States (we're stationed overseas). I didn't want to have a full time pet and the kids could help with doggy chores during the summer. The dogs became part of the family. We never had more than one dog at a time and they were actually wonderful guests...except for the time that one of the dogs threw up in the middle of the living room on our carpet. My husband and I were out of the house at the time and my eldest cleaned the worst of it up. Convinced me that an adopted dog was the way to go for a while.....

Not sure I can say I"ve had a worst house guess - but I have had a best! My long time internet friend from Australia came with her family to visit last year and that had to be the absolute best time we have ever had! I just hope I can make it over to AU sometime soon!

Have been quilting for almost 30 years & have never made a "Halloween" quilt as such! We always love our houseguests & time passes too quickly. The worst? A very uninvited slithery thing at the foot of the basement stairs on the day of my parents 65th Surprise Anniversary. I had gone down to retrieve one of the desserts in the frig & almost stepped on it. One of our dear guests came to the rescue with broom & grocery bag & the slithery thing was unceremoniously escorted off the premises. That was 4 years ago and I still double check that bottom step every time.

Running a B&B, I'll spare you the worst details. The most exasperating house guests came with a motor home (parked dead center in our parking lot for the weekend), made reservations for 2 rooms (occupancy 4), and trooped 9 family and friends through over 2 days and nights - including a puppy who they felt needed a bath - and more towels than we could keep up with. Needless to say, we were booked when they called the next time!!

Nancy said...

I'm probably the worst house guest. I snore.....loudly....and keep others from getting any sleep. When on a retreat I always try and get a room alone so that I don't bother the others. With the hot humid days we're having here in Michigan, I'm ready for a fall project using your wonderful new line of fabrics. Hope I win!

madrekarin said...

Worst house guest- hmmmmm. I don't think I've had one yet! Unless you want to count the bat that decided to come visit us, hanging out on the very top of the door jamb and flying right at us when we tried to get him out. He finally did leave- on the end of a broom. Yes, that is definitely my most unwanted house guest.

My worst house guest was my son's 65# golden lab which stayed with us for a couple of weeks during the summer! Not only did he claim anything loose was his, he also tore it to shredds or devoured the item, which included the majority of my landscaping.!!!! Solution--we put up a 3 foot fence around the new landscaping this year !! Yep, it's working!

Since we have lived everywhere before settling back in Michigan, we have had dozens of house guests. Most were great but the worst had to be the one who thought our home was a beach house when we lived in Myrtle Beach. Not even gonna go there!

Hi,

Our worst house guest(s) was the huge hive that we found in the walls of our basement. When the exterminator came he said that was the biggest hive that he had ever seen indoors.

He had to return the next day with the special suit so he could remove the hive which filled a laundry basket!

I think he's probably telling our story to all of his customers. "Oh, you think that hives big, wait till I tell you about his one!" LOL!!!

Love the new Halloween fabric line and after 105 degree temperatures last week... Fall sounds good! :-)
