NANTUCKET

It is mid-July so it must be time to head to Nantucket. And yes, I leave this weekend for an 8 day stay on this beautiful island. I start the week with a workshop I will teach for the Nantucket Historical Association at The 1800 House. When you can, check out all the classes they offer each summer - there are many I would love to take. The weekend will find me at Nantucket Country where I have my annual Show/Sale. Also a chance for me to catch up with friends and customers. Always a good time when you are there.

Nantucket should be on all "Places I Must Visit" list if you have not been there. I am hoping to convince Laurie to join me next year to teach a class and enjoy the island. I will try and take photos and update when I return.

Beautiful! I live in the mid-west and have never been back East - a must do some day.

If you think that is a neat place, you should come visit CUMBERLAND Island. A whole lot less people though... :)
I know you will enjoy. Now is the time to be up north. This is a winter/spring destination.

It's already on my list! Lucky you!

I checked our new ferry and it goes to the vineyard, so guess I have to take a weekend trip sometime, to hit both the islands. Have a wonderful time and I hope you share photos when you get back.

Welcome to New England - sorry about the heat & humidity - we don't know where it came from, but most of us would be more than willing to give it BACK! At least Nantucket will have cool ocean breezes. Have fun!

We have a son (unmarried) that has lived and worked on Nantucket for almost twenty years --- have yet to visit. Maybe I should time it for your next year's classes with Laurie --- I've used your fabrics and love the quilts --- am not a rug hooker (yet?!)

Just found your blog and was surprised to see a dog named Gibby - I thought my Gibby was the only one. You can see him at http://gibbydogblog.blogspot.com
I'd love to visit Nantucket, but Gibby and his friends keep me in Ann Arbor.

What a beautiful place, my dh and I are planning a visit "someday!" I visited the website of Nantucket Country Antiques and what amazing textiles, art, etc. and of course Your Rugs. You have fun teaching and enjoy yourself in those ocean breezes...looks like you need a vacation after hooking all those rugs!! (Hello to you too, Laurie. LOVED the pic of the two dogs sacked out!
