Special Delivery

Here are your first set of pictures of our new family member, Gibby. I was lucky to get these as the only time he is still is when he is asleep - and the only time we have seen him asleep has been for the 30 minute car ride home. He is 11 weeks old and was in a litter of 11 pups. Notice the tail in a blur. He is mostly all in a blur.
His father was a Boxer and his mommy was a Labrador - Shar Pei mix. We are not sure how we will eventually look, but he is kind of adorable right now. We found him online at
Home Fur-Ever Rescue site. They are a wonderful bunch of folks who rescue pups from dire situations and kill shelters. It takes a special person to do that work and we are forever grateful that they do it.
We exchanged emails all week and met the foster Mom and Gibby yesterday. Today we attended their Rescue Adoption event and filled out lots of paperwork and brought our boy home. Roscoe and Lizzie; the cats, have yet to meet him. They are hanging out under the bed for awhile. They will come around. They don't like to admit it, but they kind of like dogs.
Hmmmm, that paw looks kind of big doesn't it. I think we will be busy here for the next couple of months.

Congrats on your new addition. He's a cute one and I love his name. Will he be wearing a #23 jersey with an English D?

Jeanne -

How observant. He was named "Gibbs" by his foster mom. It wasn't much of a stretch to make it Gibby. We were also told that Boxers don't tolerate the cold very well, so I will be looking for a doggy sweater with a #23 on it.

He is a cutie. From the looks of his feet is he is going to be good sized. We are in the mist of puppyhood her at home. 5 month old suppose to be Yorkie, but is more schnauzer. It is a laugh a minute if you don't cry.

Oh, non-stop AAAHHHHHHHHs. What a cutie, and kudos to you and your husband for adopting. I have had a total of four rescues (still have two living), and they are the absolute best. Oh, dear, actually have four (forgot the felines). Looking forward to frequent pix and updates on Gibby. Good job!

OH MY GOSH he's ADORABLE!!! I think this is the year of the puppy! We finally caved and got a puppy, as did my sister, and my father (we all live in different states). Everyone I know has gotten a puppy this year! Good luck to you!! It is exhausting for sure - they never sit still and it's like baby proofing your house all over again! LOL But wellll worth it! I know he is going to bring you TONS of joy! :D

He's so cute. Thank you so much for choosing a rescue puppy. There are so many wonderful animals out there looking for homes. It takes special people to love mutts as much as anything!

We've had several rescue dogs over the years, and I think they've done more to rescue us than vice versa! Your Gibby looks like you will be having a GREAT time over the next 15/16 years- please God!

I have had boxers since i was 18 - and have been rescuing kind of adults the last few times - to join my nearly 8 yr old male , I recently adopted a purebred Boxeer from out local humane society - she was 11 months approx, she is an angel from heaven above - frankly all boxers or anything close are - sure she has her issues -, but aftert the fights between the two whose test meeting was perfct - settled down ,n ow we just have the barking when mom is on the phone to deal with -otherwise pretty pure angel!!!

Enjoy every minute - aaawwww they grop up so fast!!
