Blockheads 3 - Week 8

Blockheads 3.

3 is my favorite number. I wore it on all my softball uniforms.  Did it make me play as well as Dick McAuliffe? Or Alan Trammell? No it did not. Ah, but I digress.  It's my week for Blockheads 3 and I'm happy to show you my block

It's an uneven 9-patch. We all love 9 patches!  You can find the directions HERE  http://www.unitednotions.com/BH3_8-Laurie-Simpson-9-Patch.pdffor the 6" and 12" block and HERE http://www.unitednotions.com/BH3_8-Laurie-Simpson-Uneven-9-Patch.pdf.  for the 4" and 8" block - for all you non-conformists.

I'm making all my blocks from my Mackinac Island scraps and they are working together nicely.

Speaking of Mackinac Island, we found another HONOR quilt kit and it's in the Etsy shop

Things here are busy. I'm making quilts with our new fabric collection (I'll give you the name and some sneak peaks next week).  In fact, I'm so busy...... this little knucklehead had about 10 seconds of unsupervised time and this is what she came up with.

This is the reason puppies are so cute. If they weren't - nobody would put up with their nonsense.

You called Cassie a "knucklehead"? Didn't you know she was sassy and spunky when you brought her home? lol But yes, this is why puppies are so cute. :)

As with two-year-old kids who get into everything, you must take away the item they can't have and substitute one they can, and right away, so they understand the difference. And that is why God made babies and puppies so cute -- to train you!! lol And I love your blocks too, especially this one. Thanks.

I like the uneven 9-patch but the instructions for all of the measurements show even measurements for the nine patch blocks. What would the measurements be to make them uneven?

Mentioning Dick McAuliff and Alan Tramell brought back memories of thanking th City bus to Tiger Stadium and sitting with the bleacher creatures. I need to get the fat quarters of Mackinac Island, I can smell peanut butter fudge as I'm writing this.

I love it Laurie! Thank you! And you knucklehead... I have 2 knuckleheads, and darn it, they have only mastered chewing when it comes to sewing! I can’t get them to replace that “ch” with an “s”.

Thanks, love it!!

Is there a variation of the pattern to make the uneven nine-patch? The patterns I downloaded seem to instruction us to cut the squares all the same size for the corner blocks. Thank you.
