BLOCKHEADS 2 - Week 48

We are at week 48, people! Almost to the finish line.  I have assembled my top and it is being quilted by Maggi right now.  I'll be able to show you my finished quilt when we show the last block!

Oh, I have a lot to show you this week.  This is my block for Blockheads 2 - Ann Arbor and you can find the directions HERE.  How this block came about was from a trip to Cranbook last spring.  They had a superb exhibit of Alexander Girard, who was once on staff there.  It was the most inspiring show I have ever seen.  This is my version of his graphic style.  He designed furniture, architecture, textiles, and was incredibly prolific.  What I remember most is his personal notebooks and drawings from childhood. When he was at boarding school in England right after the first World War, he invented and designed his own country. He drew maps, buildings, and designed military uniforms, postage stamps, money, flags, and much, much more.  It was amazing.

The brilliant sales staff of Moda Fabrics is showing our next collection to shops!  Crystal Lake has just landed in shops and this one......... Northport will be there in September.

We're pretty excited about it! 40 amazing prints and 29 wovens!

I started making my quilts with it and I'll have more to show you in the next couple of weeks.
This is the Leo quilt in progress on my wall.

I received some more exciting news.......

And last, but not least.....everything in our Etsy shop is 17% off if you use the coupon code PATRICK this week. :)

Laters,

Laurie

Congratulations on being a semi-finalist - exciting for you. Love the Crystal Lake fabric - as I am a fan of blue. I will have to try some quilt stores here in Ontario to see if I can find it. Told someone who came in the office the other day about your web-site as they are a quilter and I was proud to say that I have cousins with their own fabric line so she was going to check it out.
