Snowfall

This is Snowfall - our new collection with Moda Fabrics.  We hope you like it.

We are just back from Houston were this was debuted.   Here are some more pics from Houston.

This is what Lake Effect will look like shortly.  I have the top and bottom border to still put on.

The Lake Effect quilt here is a digital printed quilt!  Moda saved my behind printing this one for us.  Lake Effect is on the left.  Patrick's Patchwork is on the right.  There are pajama pants, pillows, and a backpack and a Christmas mitten made out of Cottonworks.

Here is a better view of Patrick's Patchwork.
Patrick's Patchwork and Lake Effect patterns will be in our Etsy store very soon.

This is Lake Effect in progress last week before the side borders were added.

Some people were curious about the back of the English paper piecing.  I should have all the EPP finished in the next week or so.  Big reveal then.   When it gets time to start thinking about the kits for this (the fabric gets here in April) - know that we also have a EPP package to go with the kit.  All the papers, the 2 acrylic templates are included.

This is Toulouse - a pattern by Miss Rosie - all done up in Snowfall.  We love it. So did many of the attendees at International Quilt Market.  This will be a boxed kit from Moda in April.  You will be able to get these all over - including our very own Etsy store.

Here I am (looking thrilled as you can see) filming a little demo on EPP.  I really was happy and excited about it - despite the photographic evidence to the contrary.

Tell us what you think of Snowfall, or EPP, or Houston, or being photographed....... make a comment here before midnight November 6th and you could win those salesman sample - flippy fabric things in the video above.  There is more fabric there than is in a Layer Cake™ - but not more than a Fat Quarter Bundle - that's a lot of fabric to play with.  There are also surprises from Moda Fabrics!  That Christmas mitten is included - as is Moda Candy from many of the market collections.  Yes - 3 big packages will be mailed out.  Good Luck!

Laters,

Laurie

I HATE being photographed! I think I look positively awful. I love Snowfall and look forward to getting my hands on some (or a lot!) of it!

Snowfall is lovely, I can't wait! And Lake Effect is beautiful. Heck, they are all beautiful and inspiring.

I don't like having my picture taken but have softened up lately when it comes to family and fun times. If I had to do a demo on camera, I would not look forward to it.....

I am the person you wonder were they at a certain event because I try to make sure my picture is not taken. Love the new fabric line. dorthac@aol.com

I hate having my picture taken, so much so that I will hide if I see a camera or phone pointed in my direction. Snowfall is beautiful but made up in the Toulouse pattern has really won my heart. I can see where the flippy things have a lot of fabric in them and have my fingers crossed.

I hate being photographed (and my family knows it). Houston is okay ... not my "favorite" city with its high humidity ... which is why I live in Northern Michigan ... LOL. Haven't really tried EPP but need to fall under its spell because I am needing and wanting to do more handwork. LOVE "Snowfall" ... can't wait for April and the release of the Toulouse kit! Linda H

I adore EPP, so Lake Effect is really appealing to me.

I can't wait until April because I want to work with those colours. I like to hold on to my camera because then I'm assured that I'm not in the photos, I'm taking them instead. It will be wonderful to create Toulouse as it's been on my inspiration list for years.

Gretchen said...

I just adore Snowfall! It reminds me of your Winter line from a few years ago. Being photographed is definitely not something I like; I tend to hide behind something, preferably a quilt!

I too am not a fan of being photographed. Hmm, my son is an amateur photographer and is still am not a fan. Anyway, these new fabrics are fabulous and I have done a little EPP. Can't wait to see them in person.

Ann Arbor fan!

Kathy Johnson said...

I don't mind being photographed (usually) but only because I always have the camera in my hand and can't expect others to let me take their pictures if I refuse to be in front of the camera! Love the fabrics and the patterns!

scottylover said...

I'm usually the one with the camera, so I don't get my picture taken often. When I do, though, it is usually with a mouth full of food or a frown on my face.

Gorgeous fabrics! I have only tried hexagon EPP but would love to try the honeycombs!

I used to go to Houston every year and took classes and shopped til I was EXHAUSTED! I was so happy when the hotel was built attached to the convention center but what a MONSTER to try to get a room for Festival! UGH! But since DH passed away, it's never been quite the same so I don't go anymore. Love pix though!

cheryl warstler said...

GRIN..... I believe you when you say you were excited and happy to be filming. How could you be anything but that, when working on such a cute quilt. Ok, so EPP scares me...I've done a couple small blocks, but creating my pieces and committing to a quilt of that size is scary. then I take another look at that inner border/square/medallion and I LOVE IT....so what is a woman to do? maybe get out the crock pot and plan more hand work? Love the new line as well, always great colors that mix well with others.

MJinMichigan said...

Love your new fabric line. I've done EPP but never that much. I wonder if I would be Abel to stick with it to the finish.

Wow! love everything! That's a lot of work on that beautiful quilt - love the greens and blues you've chosen for winter hues.

I'm soooooo enjoying petting and playing with my cottonwork fq bundle that I ordered from your store! I've been ordering larger cuts in my favorites (those pumpkins - scream fall; as well as cream and red and thAt pretty blue). I ordered a layer cake and ended up giving it to a good friend who came to visit so I've ordered another . I tell everyone about it And it's flying off shelves. Went to SAFF last weekend in Asheville - wow! - I connected with my local rug hooking group and they were intrigued.
Great job ladies ! A lot of work ....well done.

Your talent is boundless. However I agree I do not like being photographed. I do not mind filming a demo as long as you do not show my face. I will talk, use my hands, etc. that is OK but nothing else.

Licia McHardy said...

I have made an effort lately to be in pictures. I never like the results but feel like I need to leave some record of myself for my grandchildren or others. I hope they don't care about my size or if my hair was perfect.
I can't wait for a Snowfall Block of the Month from you. I am enjoying Traverse Bay so much. I love having a defined amount to finish each month and have managed to keep up!

Dondi Murdock said...

I love to see the light blue in snowfall because it lends more color value. Christmas quilts are always wonderful, but Christmas comes and goes so fast. Your quilt is a winter long quilt. Where you are, winter lasts a long, long time. It doesn't last that long in Utah, but it still is a long season, worthy of a beautiful quilt like Snowfall. Thanks for your creativity. Can't wait for this!

Well, the weather outside is frightful, but only because it's a gazillion degrees here today. Love Snowfall, and have already preordered enough to make a sleigh cozy. That won't stop me finding a use for the flippy things of course! EPP?.. well, I love hand piecing and would probably piece Lake Effect the American way, rather than the English way. Thanks for the continued awesomeness, Laurie and Polly.

Lake Effect! (Groan, moan) Hearing those words rocks my world. We live with lake effect weather from Lake Erie and the lake loves to dump snow on us. Your fabric makes me think of cozy nights with a storm raging outside and me working with fabric on a hand project;then the words "lake effect" aren't as threatening. Thanks for the beautiful patterns and designs of new fabrics. Toulouse boxed kit will be on my wish list.
