We're Going to A Convention!

Polly and I are packing right now to go to a convention.....

Nope, not this kind of convention.

We're going here....
The Salt Lake City Convention Center.  We'll be running into all sorts of friends and compadres.  Business will be done, but lots of laughing will be done too.
International Quilt Market - Spring 2016 (photo from a year or so ago)

I'll try to keep the photos coming as we work.  I have 48 lbs of quilts in one of my suitcases.

This got packed..... as did this

It's so big I can't get a picture of it.

What would you like a photo of? What booth would you like to visit? What restaurant would you dine at? What new shoes would you wear?

Leave a comment about that - or anything else and you could win a new Fat Quarter Bundle™ of Grand Traverse Bay - that's enough fat quarters to make the quilt above - Martin Place (25 Fat Quarters and background fabric)  - it's almost like I go to Sample Spree FOR you.

We'll draw for a winner when we get back home.

Laters,

Laurie

I've never been to Utah so I'd like to do the touristy stuff as well as quilt market. At quilt market, I'd just like to soak up the creativity and be inspired to come home and create.

Love your "Martin Place" quilt! I'll enjoy anything you share. I'd love to go to Quilt Market, but NOT in new shoes (couldn't take a chance on sore feet spoiling my fun!). Enjoy the whole experience! Candy (becanATshawDOTca)

Hope that you will be wearing shoes that have been broken in! Those convention halls always look huge. Photos of your quilts installed would be wonderful and any new quilts/patterns by Karen Styles/Somerset Designs, if they are there, would be great to see. Can't believe it's already market time. Have fun!

proth said...

I agree with Anonymous. Who in their right mind would wear a new pair of shoes to Quilt Market? I would want to be sure that my feet wouldn't hurt. I would drool over all the quilts and want to make each and every one of them. Then I would realize that I can't possibly live long enough to make them all. :)

I was able to go to fall quilt market about 12 years ago, what a wonderful experience!! If I went again I'd wear my new Sketchers with memory foam insoles. You can't enjoy market if your feet hurt. As much as I loved seeing all the newest fabric at Moda and other booths, I would like to visit the smaller booths to see what's new and interesting in the way of patterns and notions. Have a marvelous time!!

Kathy in FL said...

What booth would I like to visit? Yours and Polly's, of course! Post as many pictures as you can. I'd love to see the whole convention if I could.

No way, really!!!! An opportunity to make Martins Place quilt with Grand Traverse Bay fabric? Gorgeous! Its me, its me, its me !!!!!! I'm jumping up and down, up and down !!! Ah, ha, ah, ha. Send pictures of the convention quilt goodies that spark your eyes! Wish I were there. It looks like so much fun. Oh, and it just wouldn't be a great trip without a picture of yummy food too. Thank you for this chance.
Have a safe trip.

Susan

Still jumping up and down!!!!!

Sounds like so much fun. Would like to see your pictures from the Quilt Market, especially your booth. You took along some nice quilt samples. Hope you all made the trip okay and enjoyed it. ~Christine

I would love to see pictures of your booth at Market-has to be some really good eye candy. Must've been a Lucy/Ethel moment closing your suitcase with all those quilts in it. Hope it was a good Market for you.
