Sew-cation - Week 2

There are no tales of glamorous spa visits of beach side meals, but it's been a good week.  The first finish of 2016 in the washing machine right now.  It's been quilted and bound and now it's being tidied up a bit.  Unfortunately there won't be a photo on the laundry line because we are having a mini blizzard at the moment.  I don't think the snow will amount to much, but it doesn't make for good photos.  This is the quilt that now in the "finished" pile.

This was taken, oh about a year ago.(Notice the snow) It's just the top here.  The pattern is by Blackberry Design (Love Letters) and the fabric is from long ago. My next top in the hoop will be the All Blue Austin Bluebird

I will be starting it just as soon as I'm done with this blog post.  We'll see how much I get done by the end of the month - that's when I'll be making 4 new quilts from new patterns.

While I was quilting on Love Letters, I listened to the latest Cormoran Strike novel - Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith.
Oh, I'm a fan.  This is the 3rd book in the series and J. K. Rowling (who uses the pen name Robert Galbraith for these books) says there will be at least 8 books in this series. I hope there are more.  Yes, that J. K. Rowling. If anyone likes audio books - these are very well done.  2 thimbles up!!!

Did you know that a Moda Blog Hop is starting this week?

I can't wait to see the new fabric coming out. It looks like it will be mostly in the blue line. Or I guess that would be my hope since I am counting the days until Ms. Scarlet comes out (I've preordered). Happy Stitching!

LOVE the new quilt and the Austin Bluebird in blue! I'm still finishing one last block for my Austin Bluebird! Getting closer, tho.

Thanks for the heads up on the book series - I just ordered the first one. Need more good books to pass the time

Almost done on the Austin Bluebird and am confused on Block #11, page 3, quilt block #4 Windmill. I cut the pieces out according to the cutting list at the beginning of this block. None of the pieces fit together. Is there a cutting correction? Thanks
