Happy Monday

Look what greeted me this morning at my computer?
Today is Bill's and my 20th anniversary.  He does get good cards.  I think the large font on "Artist" is supposed to be sarcastic  :)

I also finished this - this fine morning.

This is Month 7 of the Austin Bluebird Sampler.... it will go on the top right next to this....

For all of you who have ordered the Star-A-Day pattern from us, we haven't forgotten you.  They are still "in transit".  Actually, I've been tracking the package from Australia and it landed in Los Angeles 10 days ago and nothing has been transmitted since.  I've been assured by my local post mistress that someone missed scanning it, as it doesn't sit somewhere for 10 days.  Fingers crossed it gets here very, very soon.

Polly and I are off on a little adventure Thursday.  I hope to have lots of pictures when I get back.  I will land back home in Michigan Sunday morning.  That's important, since that's when our AMERICAN SUMMER sale will start!  Be there or be square!

Let's have a give-away today to cheer up all those Star-A-Day people......

Comment on this post before midnight June 9th - Tuesday - and I will mail out this to the randomly selected winner.

The complete pattern for the Austin Bluebird Sampler

Laters,

Laurie

Happy Anniversary! I happened to check in on your site a few months back and I saw your Austin Blue Bird Quilt and have not stopped thinking about it! It contains all the elements of antique sampler quilts along with the use of a simple/clean color pallet it has me wanting to take the leap and challenge my limited quilting skills. Thanks for the the great give away!

I'd love to be entered in the drawing but I should really wait for another scrap drawing. I'm not lucky anyway - Hi to Polly ! Thanks Mel

The more I see the Austin Blue Bird in blue, the more I want to do it !
If this Blue Bird could cross the ocean, I would be happy to invite it in my studio.
I promise to keep the three cats away from it and cherish it.

I love following you as you make the blue Austin Bluebird Sampler. I'm working on mine and need your help from time to time and your posts are sew delightful. I can see that my work is OK! One question: last summer you made a special sweet cherry dish where the cherries were kinda floating on top of a baked tart. Would you mind telling me what that cherry dish was? It looked scrumptious! I want to have the recipes when cherries come in season soon. Too good to miss! Thanks in advance-

Laurie said...

Susan W

Your blogger profile keeps your email from me = so here is the answer....

The cherry recipe I made last year was a cherry clafoutis. Here is a link to the recipe

http://morethanburnttoast.blogspot.com/2009/07/julia-childs-cherry-clafouti-for-julie.html

It is basically a baked custard with cherries. Yum. Now I need to make one too!

Oh, and someone else asked about what collection of fabrics I am using for the blue Austin Bluebird.... I'm using my scrap bin and just about all of them are Minick and Simpson blues - with some other moda blues mixed in. Thanks

Laurie
