Polka Dots And Paisleys

Lookie what we have!

Ooooh, a bandana cheater cloth!

We are making quilts with this new collection! The Moda salesmen are showing it to your quilt shops right now.  We never have enough polka dots, or paisleys.

There will be more to show soon.

Comment here on this post before Saturday March 28th at midnight - and you could win the Polka Dot and Paisley Jelly Roll™.  Comment on polka dots, or paisleys, or moving, or having your sewing stash reduced down to one box of fabric, or only having 3 pairs of shoes in your closet. THREE.  Or comment about anything at all.

P.S.  For all of you locals who do charity quilts - be they Quilts of Honor, Quilts of Valor, or any charitable organization - I have a 52lb box of Polka Dot and Paisley scraps.  Art teachers - this is your chance. Email me at lauriesimpson92@gmail.com and we'll arrange a pick-up.

Thanks everyone - the fabric has been claimed.

Laters,

Laurie

Reducing my stash down to one box! It had better be a HUGE box! I moved my sewing room from downstairs to upstairs in the last year. I believe I had more than one box and have added more since. And I don't have a huge stash.

Cecilia said...

I love polka dots! I dislike moving, but it is fun setting up a new sewing space and choosing new paint colors! I wish I lived nearby, so I could adopt some of your scraps for a Quilt of Valor. 😉 thanks for a chance to win some of your beautiful fabric.

I love both polka dots and paisleys. Can't wait to see all the new quilts made up in these fabrics!

How exciting!! Love the large paisley print! Couldn't imagine working out of one box....but the three pairs of shoes...that would be fine..a pair of tennies for walks, sandals for everyday and a pair for "nice", but then I live in California where we haven't had any rain....in Michigan maybe not so much!! Can hardly wait to see what you create...especially with the cheater cloth!

Deb said...

OH, It's very pretty would love to have some of this fabric! Thanks

This fabric is to die for! I love it so much. I was an Army wife for 25 years until my husband retired last year, so I'm an expert at moving and each one got worse than the one before. Last summer we moved into a one bedroom apartment for 3 months while we house-hunted and waited to close. I had my machine, a small amount of fabric, 1 book and a couple patterns. I had a small table in the corner of the "eating area" but I was able to quilt! It was sort of fun to live without much stuff, but I sure was happy to move into the new house and get everything back!

Another winner for Minnick and Simpson!!! Can't wait to buy some. One box of fabric would certainly narrow ones focus. Hope it's a big box!

So pretty! But then all your fabric lines are pretty. As for moving and packing -- something I need to do. Moving, who knows. But I need to get rid of stuff in case! Thanks for the giveaway!

I love the sneak peeks of your new line! I moved a year ago and still haven't gotten my sewing room straightened out. I decided to leave it as it is and just work on projects that popped up. Best of luck in your move!

Well I have never met a polka dot I did not like and if you add paisley then that is the best thing ever. Wish I was an art teacher so I could claim your scraps! LOL Have a great day, and enjoy your three pairs of shoes, I do not envy you having to pack ... WHAT A MAJOR DRAG.... Hope you have a wonderful day.

Love the polka dots, hate moving ( just did it within the last six months and told my husband he is carrying me out of here in a wooden box). -the whole moving process was awful and this whole line looks adorable! I did downsize my stash but it still needs to be thinner.
Thanks for the chance to win.

OH!! my goodness, I think the new fabrics are beautiful !! Id love a Jelly Roll..About moving , where are you going ?? also I am thinking of moving soon but it will be local here in NJ and I am already clearing out room by room. I just saw a Youtube video that helped me with decisions. Put all things into a box whether imaginary or real. Empty the room cover sofas etc. Then begin to reach into the box for what you use . You find that 80% of the box stays in there and those are the things you should get rid of and keep the rest, whatever you take out you keep ... Im down to 5 pairs of shoes and 2 bags. Im going to pare down on outfits now. Got rid of 50% of kitchen junk never used. I love this new me.Good luck Laurie !

Love all your collections! Comments on moving: we are slowing moving into a new house as we have been renting a tiny place since our old (big ) house sold. I actually have 4 pairs of shoes in my closet: 2 pairs of Keds, 1 pair of running shoes, and 1 pair of clogs. Most everything I own has been in storage and I have to share my sewing" room " with my cats - I've actually been chased out to the dining room table. Anyway, looking forward to your collection !!

Love, love love polka dots and paisleys! The last time we moved I took my sewing machines (never let the movers handle those!) but only one tiny tote of fabric because i thought we would have a house at the other end. Turns out we didn't. We had to live in an apt without any of our stuff for 3 months--I found allll the quilt shops in the area! LOL (I did end up with more than one little tote of fabric when we finally moved into our house!) ;-)

You said to comment about having your sewing stash reduced down to one box of fabric, or only having 3 pairs of shoes in your closet. THREE. Is there anyone that really exists that has that? If that is the norm I seriousley have a bigger problem than I thought. With that being said - I still have room for your new fabric. The patterns and colors are truly amazing.

When I lived in Missouri, a new neighbor moved from her country farm into our small town to retire. Her home was across the street from mine. We became friends as we both liked to quilt and walked together for exercise. She told me about moving into the "city house"; she saved fabric from the time she was young and threaded needles for her grandmother and quilters under the quilt frame. My friend's stash was quite large when she sold her farm. What to do with it all? She made a huge pile of fabric in the yard and lit a match to it, watching it burn. She thought she would never quilt again. She's quilting again!
I'm glad she is and her story inspires me to use it up, wear it out and to keep quilting.

Sorcha girl said...

Oh, I cannot wait to see this fabric "in person"! Love the red and blue of your fabric. I can sympathize with the difficulty you are having during your move. It seems the sewing room is first to pack and last to unpack each time I've moved. However, I always keep a project and my sewing machine out to help give me a break during the process. Thanks for the chance in the giveaway.

Love the colors of your fabric. I have a hard time downsizing. Hate to part with things - may need them in the future. Yet I can't use it all. Never need it until I get rid of it and then wonder why I didn't keep it. Anyone else have this problem????
