Peppermint Twist and Candy Cane Bouquet

Peppermint Twist
Polly and I have a couple of projects in the new issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects.  Above is Polly's hooked rug and this is my little quilt.

Candy Cane Bouquet

If you don't already subscribe to this magazine - you can go here to do so.  My little quilt uses wool and ticking scraps - things you probably already have on hand, but the background is a wonderful Moda fabric called Grunge Basics from Basic Grey.  I have some of this fabric and if you want this lovely neutral for your quilt - you can get it here on our Etsy shop.

What else is going on?  I am finishing up another wool project this weekend.  This is the Sailor Penny Rug from our (unfortunately out of print book) Everyday Folk Art.  It's made from a salvaged WWII wool Navy blanket and was commissioned by a customer.

The peppermint quilt is fabulous. I'm glad I didn't let my subscription run out! The recycled Navy blanket is wonderful!

I have that book :) and am dreaming about some projects in it. Just bought it used last year on Amazon. Makes me OHH and AHH every time I page through it. Wish I had a excuse for a little navy sailor in my life. Love it! You are always inspiring. Janita

Laurie - Love the Candy Cane Bouquet - I went right out and got the magazine. One I had not heard of, but it is wonderful. In the instructions it says to iron interfacing onto the back of the fabric for the candy canes do it doesn't fray... but then it say to fuse the candy cane to the background. No mention of fusible web before this. Is there an error in the directions? - thanks for your help. Love your designs. - Debra

Oh please tell me there's a quilt pattern or quilt kit for the American Jane Ducks in a Row quilt you show on this blog! :-)
