The Fabric Shopper, Red Cross and Helping

This photo has gone viral.  It was taken a couple days ago in Hoboken New Jersey.  One small act of kindness.  It inspires others.  Sandy, the unruly houseguest has left, but she has still left many in need.

Meander over to The Fabric Shopper Blog and see what Christie has done!  If you make a donation to the Red Cross - you are in a drawing for lots of sewing and quilting goodies.  Great idea!

Thanks

Laurie

This is nothing new to me. Having grown up in Louisiana until I was 14, then living on the coast here.. it's all par for the course. I'm glad that the northerners are realizing how rays of sunshine can come out of tragedy.Gotta make lemonade , nothing more you can do. I find it interesting that nobody is talking about Samaritan's Purse, who was one of the first to respond. NOT a Govt. agency. We (in the south) have always been a self reliant bunch. It's the ONLY way you can get through it. Have had land condemned, I think there will be quite a few cases of that coming up on the shores... will be interesting to watch it all unfold. Nothing we can do but make the best of it. I do NOT think the marathon should be going on. I think the efforts should be put into clearning the streets to get emergency vehicles and generators to pump the gas at the stations, etc.
