End Of Summer Blues......and Reds, Pinks, and Yellows.

Thank you everyone for saying nice things and letting us all get to know each other a little more. There really is something special about all the season changes, but Summer to Fall is undoubtedly the best. The next few weeks here in Michigan are what I call "sleeping weather." Those few weeks when it is mild enough to have all the windows open, yet you can pile on a couple of quilts at night.

Gibby is enjoying the cool snap too. His afternoon play dates run a little longer and are more energetic, if that's possible. Today, after his date he spent the day with me on the couch watching the U. S. Open. He's handsome, isn't he?
Okay, enough of the chit chat. The three winners of the Charlevoix scraps are....

Email me here and I will get your boxes out to you promptly. The quiltmaking here has gone swimmingly. I am on the second quilt top and I am happily pressing and trimming half square triangles.

OMG!

I have won a prize. Can't wait to fondle the fabric so lovingly.
Not just because I won, but I do love your fabric. As soon as I get the king quilt back from the quilter, I will post a picture. It is all Moda fabric and mainly yours.

Thank you so much,

Frummie

I see Gibby on that very nice red and white quilt and think how sometimes the simplest quilt , a 2 color quilt is more astonishing to me than a multicolored one. It brings out the true patchwork and quilting in it's simplicity, I think Gibby agrees..

Congrats to the winners! Yes, it's LOVELY sleeping weather, although I leave the windows open all winter, lol. Getting out of bed is hard in February, I admit...
Gibby is VERY handsome, and so is that quilt he's laying on! Enjoy your quiltmaking!

Sleeping weather.. we say that too! And we're having some of it as well. Windows open still, but nice and cool.

Anyway congrats to the winners. I love the fabric and can't wait to see what this all becomes!

I love sleeping weather although it makes the getting up to go work part difficult. I like when it's three quilts cold which means I'll keep the window open when it's pretty chilly outside. My hubby hates that. Gibby is adorable...legs everywhere

Oh- Yum! Your triangles look like you are having so much fun sewing them up! I'm still canning tomatoes. I have a half bushel of
peaches ripening in the garage. All of this seems good; I'd rather have some new fabric -like Clermont Farm or Charloix- to cut into just now. It's a pleasant way to welcome fall-like weather which we've been experiencing once again.High today 60; low @ night 40's...is 90 degrees just a great memory?

Opps! My spelling error on the word Charlevoix. Sorry. Today in Erie,PA. the tall ships that have sailed in Charlevoix will be in a Parade of Sails @ Presque Isle Bay; there will be 8 tall ships to see & tour.

Thanks for picking my name in the drawing! I got my package today and it is WONDERFUL! Supposed to be a cool weekend here, so maybe I'll spend it sewing and playing with scraps! Thanks for the "extra" goodie, too!

Coast Guard City USA and cherries!!!! Could I love you any more?!?! I'm going to swim in your new line (love your use of "swimmingly" too) - I love it so much!! I'm gonna swim, swim, swim in it!

I just started a new book yesterday (Land of a Hundred Wonders by Lesley Kagen), and the main character's name is Gibby!!

Clearly you meant to name your new line Grand Haven and I had a psychic moment. Cherry city, Coast Guard city... potatoes, tomatoes, Grand Haven, Charlevoix... at least I got the Michigan part correct!

I love the red and white quilt that Gibby is lying on. Is it an individual pattern or in one of your books/

That quilt is made from a cheater cloth from our Flag Day Farm collection. The fabric is called "Polly's Quilt". It was very popular and I don't think any red exists any more. You can find it in the navy at some shops. Basically there were 4 stars across the width of the fabric with the zigzag by the selvage. Just trim off the zigzag and piece together as many stars as you want and re-attach the zigzag on the edges. That's it. Good luck.

Ooh, I just saw the new line (over at Moda, after seeing it here)! It's gorgeous!! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled to see if anyone up here in Alberta (especially around Edmonton) carries it! I love it! Way to go, ladies, great designs and colours! I have an online friend who lives in Charlevoix, MI!! Imagine that! LOL

PS I love two colour quilts, though I have to usually use a variety of fabrics. Lucky Gibby!!
